Alvera,the Revenger,Married the Billionaire

Chapter 31: It's Not Your First Time

Chapter 31: It's Not Your First Time

In the darkness, Alvera turned over and wiped her tears away.

She would never let anyone else see her as fragile, much less this man in front of her.

...

When he p*netrated her, she felt as if she could explode with anger.

The trauma lingered in her mind.

Roland felt a tugging sense of familiarity when he was with Alvera. Her body felt like that night four

years ago, except this time he was sober and wide awake.

...

He did not understand why he felt this way. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

Annoyed, his movements became more violent.

He finally finished up after what felt like forever.

Alvera quickly pulled the blanket over herself when she saw him get up to turn on the light.

The light flooded the room, dazzling her eyes.

She frowned, stood up with the blanket still around her, and walked into the bathroom without a word.

After she left, Roland looked at the messy but clean bedsheets and frowned.

Alvera was taking a very rough shower in the bathroom.

When she came out, Roland was still in the room.

She smiled at him. "Mr. Francois, why are you are still here?"

"You're not a virgin?"

Alvera paused for a moment then raised her eyebrows and looked at him. "I never said I was."

"Who did you do it with? That ex-boyfriend who left you?"

Alvera did not answer his question. "I didn't know you preferred virgins. If I had known, I would have

done a reconstruction surgery. It's not too late now, is it?"

She smiled charmingly.

He detested her indifferent attitude, but that was how she presented herself to him every time he saw

her. "Get out."

...

Alvera raised her eyebrows, shrugged, and left the room.

She went into the next room, closed the door and slumped her back against it. She slid to the floor and

curled herself up, hugging her knees tightly against her chest.

She smiled as she heard Roland slam the door as he left the room outside.

She got back to her room and ate a piece of candy.

Since she couldn't sleep, she picked up a book and began reading.

The next morning, Antoine stood in front of Roland in the CEO office of the Empire Group, looking at

him fearfully. "Roland."

...

...

"Who allowed you to come back?" Roland asked coldly.

"I... I came back to look for an old friend."

Roland threw his pen on the table, his expression chilly. "I told you, don't come back here ever again.

You can die overseas for all I care. Did you not listen?"

...

"I will leave right after I find my friend."

"Your old friend... a woman?"

Antoine kept quiet.

Roland sneered, knowing that he was right. "Does Grace know you're back to look for a woman?"

"Roland, I don't like Grace. I want to cancel our engagement."

"I set up your engagement. If you want to cancel it, let your mother be punished for what she did, and

I'll let you go."

He lit a cigarette and looked at him pleasantly. "I gave you a choice four years ago. You chose to be

punished in place of your mother. You don't get to regret it now."

Antoine clenched his fist tightly and said, "I already have someone I love deeply. I have loved her for

seven years, but we were separated for four years. I don't want to lose her, Roland, please. We're your

family, let us go."

He sneered. "Do you think I will?"

He flicked the ashes from his cigarette into the ashtray and raised his eyebrows. "I'll give you a month.

Finish your business and leave the country. You can find as many mistresses as you like, but your

engagement with the Taylor family will remain."

Antoine stood up, looked at him for a moment, then staggered away.

Alvera met with Samuel in a cafe. She held her cup in her hands as she stared distractedly out of the

window.

Samuel rapped loudly on the table with his fingers.

Alvera came back to her senses. "What did you say?"

"I didn't say anything. You're here to have a coffee with me, focus."

She smiled and did not reply.

"I say, what is wrong with you?"

"Nothing's wrong. I was just distracted by that."

She pointed to the opposite side of the road.

A young man was riding a bicycle with a young woman in the backseat. The young woman wrapped

her arms around the man's waist as they talked while waiting for the light to turn green.

"Something's not right, Alvera," Samuel said. "Are you thinking about Antoine Francois? You didn't

forget your promise, did you?"

Alvera looked at him. "Why are you so sensitive? I was just thinking how long that will last."

She took a sip of coffee and continued, "The young man said something to the girl and made her laugh.

It will take her many years to realize that men will say anything when they still love you, but once they

lose interest in you, they won't even talk to you truthfully."

Samuel frowned. "Did Antoine hurt you that much?"

She smiled bitterly. "He was all I had at the time. I thought he would be my salvation, but... he left me."

There was a deep sadness in her eyes. "He didn't just hurt me," she continued. "He destroyed all my

hopes. I keep thinking how different this would have all been if I had asked you for help instead of

looking for him that night."

Samuel's heart ached for her when he saw her expression. He reached out and held her hand. "It's all

in the past now."

She smiled and nodded. "It's all in the past now. I have a new life, I shouldn't think so much."

"Great."

"All right. Keep the money. I'll go back first."

"Call me if you need to talk," Samuel told her. "Don't keep it to yourself."

She nodded. "I know."

When she got home, Alvera parked her car at the gates and got out of the car.

As she unlocked the doors to the villa, a pair of hands stopped her from opening the door.

She jumped and turned around.

It was Antoine. She frowned. "Why are you here again?"

"Alvera, let's talk."

"I really have nothing to talk about with you. Antoine, we're both adults. There's no need to keep

bringing up the past," she said. "Don't tell me you miss me, because I won't believe you. I'm not going

to let you in my life now. I don't love you anymore."

...

"I don't believe you."

"I don't care whether you believe me or not. I'm not going back to you," she said calmly, and then

turned around to go in the house.

...

Antoine grabbed her and enveloped her in a hug from behind.

"Alvera, please, don't treat me like this. I know you've been through a lot, and I know I should have

been here for you. We've been separated for so many years. I don't want to lose you. I'm here to take

you away, I'll bring you to America, and we can start over there."

Alvera frowned. It was a tempting offer, but...

"If you told me this four years ago, I would have gone with you without hesitation. Well I can't go

anywhere right now, Antoine."

He spun her around to face him and grabbed her shoulders. "You can, Alvera, just say the word, we'll

leave this place together and never come back."

She smiled and pushed his hands over her shoulders gently. "My mother died because of the Earhart

family. Your brother sent me to prison without any charges. I was in prison for four years. That's four

years of horrors that you can't even imagine. Do you really think I can just simply say 'It's all right' now

as I did four years ago? Do you really think I can pretend nothing ever happened and just go back to

you happily? You might be willing to live a fake life like that, but I'm not."

...

"Antoine, thank you for accompanying me during my childhood," she continued. "You were my first

love, and you helped me grow up. It was a very sweet dream, but we're both adults now, and I cannot

build my life on unrealistic dreams. I beg you, please leave me alone. Just consider this as karma for

leaving me four years ago."

...

She smiled at him brightly after she finished.

"No, it shouldn't be like this, Alvera. I haven't lost you yet. You're just angry with me, right? I can take

that, but please, don't break up with me," he implored.

Alvera looked at him and sighed, "It's not like you don't understand, you just don't want to listen to me.

Fine, I'll make this clearer. You're the second son of the Francois family. If you can make the Empire

Group go out of business, I'll go back to you. If you can't, then forget about me."

After that, she turned, went into the house and slammed the door.

Antoine knelt on the ground wailed loudly. "Alvera!"

Alvera took a deep breath and sat down on the sofa. Then she picked up a piece of candy and ate it.

She could hear him yelling for her outside the door.

She picked up a pair of earphones, put them on, and opened a book, but she couldn't concentrate.

She wasn't sure when Antoine left, but when Becky left after dinner, there was no one at the door.

...

She put on a coat, closed the door, and walked to the beach.

She sat alone by the sea, listening to some light music with her earphones and looked out to the

moonlit sea.

It was the most beautiful scene she had ever seen.

She smiled. This time, her smile was sincere, but there was no one around to see her beautiful smile.

...

At the same time, unbeknownst to her, several burly men crept up to her from behind.

They grabbed her and put a burlap sack over her head.

Alvera's vision went dark suddenly and she felt someone grabbing her. Terrified, she struggled against

her captors.

Her earphones fell out as she struggled. She heard a voice yell, "Beat her up"

Then a kick landed on her.

Her head was covered so she couldn't see, but she was familiar with being beaten up. She curled up

tightly on the ground and protected her head with her hands.

Her captors were intent on maiming her. The kicks almost made her pass out.
