Dumping My Fiancé For His Uncle

Chapter 103

Thea paused, thinking he might want to talk about what happened tonight or the incident with Jake the other day,

All she felt was exhaustion and the desire to rest, so she turned her head and declined. "Another day. I'm just really tired. today."

Nicolas seemed a little upset. "You won't even give me a chance to talk?"

But Thea remained calm, countering. "Why should we talk? This isn't a long-

term relationship. Even if we do talk, it won't change anything. It would just be a waste of both our time. It's line, Mr. Hendrix. I've already said I understand your actions. so there's no need for you to explain anything. Even though she said it, Thea felt a heaviness in her chest.

There were still things she hadn't said out loud.

The reason she didn't choose to communicate was that the moment she needed Nicolas to step-up had already passed.

Years of experience had taught her not to have unrealistic expectations of anyone.

Otherwise, the only person who would get hurt was herself.

Nicolas, however, suddenly became calm as he studied her face. It seems like... you don't trust me?"

hint of confusion appeared in Thea's eyes.

Looking at Nicolas's expression, Thea realized he was serious, and her heart trembled slightly.

'Don't trust you? Of course, I don't trust you. Why has it come to this? Because every time I've tried to trust someone, it didn't end well for me, she thought to herself.

Avoiding Nicolas's gaze, she said, "I feel a little dizzy. I think I need to rest

Nicolas let go of her.

Both kept their expressions stiff, neither saying another word.

Thea took a few steps forward, but suddenly the world spun, and she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen.

It seemed today was the start of her period.

Thea had been in a bad mood for days and had completely forgotten about it.

Now, with her body feeling cold and weak, Thea barely had the strength to stay on her feet.

She tried to make it back to her room, but before she could even reach the door, her vision blurred, and she collapsed.

In her daze, Thea felt herself covered in sweat, her abdomen cramping painfully, forcing her to curl up.This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

Then, a pair of warm hands reached out and held hers,

Thea clung tightly to that hand like a drowning person grabbing onto a lifeline.

The pain seemed to ease a little.

Is that Nicolas?' She wondered.

She wanted to open hereyes to see, but she was too weak.

Once the pain subsided, she felt utterly drained.

Gradually, her breathing became steady.

Nicolas sat at the bedside, watching her. Her long lashes cast delicate shadows across her face, making her seem so different from her usual self.

Even though Thea always acted obedient in front of him. Nicolas knew she was far more stubborn and guarded than she let

At the slightest change, she'd raise all her defenses.

Nicolas chuckled sofily. "Is your distrust of me because of Jake?"

His quiet words were lost on her.

Thea's lips moved slightly, as if she were murmuring something

Nicolas's eyes flickered, and he leaned down, intending to hear what she was whispering.

But somehow, he was tempted to kiss those soft red lips.

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

Nicolas froze, the emotion in his eyes vanishing, replaced by coldness and clarity.

Darwin entered, tense and careful, not daring to make a loud sound.

He sighed softly. "Mr. Hendrix, we just received news that Ms. Ralap is having health issues. She's being admitted to the hospital. Do you want to go check on her?"

Nicolas's eyelids twitched slightly. "What's wrong with her? If it's not too serious, you can go check on her for me."

"I'm not sure about the details, but Ms. Ralap mentioned that it's quite serious. She's very distressed right now and wants you to come help her make a decision. She also said that after her brother passed away, you're the only person left in this world, that she can trust. If you don't come to see her, she won't accept treatment," Darwin added.

Thea seemed to be dreaming about something, her grip on Nicolas's hand tightening.

Nicolas rubbed his aching forehead and, after a moment, gently withdrew his hand.

He stood up. "Take me over there to check on the situation first.

After sleeping for an unknown amount of time, Thea woke up again, looking around at the quiet hospital room with a dazed expression.

The pain in her lower abdomen had lessened significantly, but her body still felt weak.

In the dark and silent room, she felt a sense of unease.

"Nicolas Thea called out tentatively, but only silence responded

Biting her lip, she carefully removed her IV and decided to step outside.

The hallway was just as quiet, and she had half-expected to see Nicolas there.

Feeling a bit disappointed. Thea found a bench in the corridor, sat down, and lowered her gaze, hiding the emotions in her

eyes.

Suddenly, a shadow fell over her, accompanied by familiar breathing

Thea looked up to see Nicolas frowning down at her. "Sitting out here, aren't you cold?"

Her heart trembled slightly as she tried to maintain a calm expression. "It was a bit stuffy inside. I just wanted some fresh

air."

Nicolas didn't say anything. He extended his hand to her, and Thea took it to stand up.

Feeling the familiar warmth of his hand. Thea's checks thushed slightly.

She had thought the feeling of someone holding her hand had been just a dream, but now she realized that the person who held her hand earlier had really been Nicolas, "Mr. Hendrix, I'm sorry for the trouble," Nicolas glanced sideways at her. "Why are you being so formal with me?"

He helped Thea back to her bed, called a nurse to adjust her IV, then went out to fetch some warm water and opened the window slightly.

After doing all this, he leaned over to tuck her in. "You can let the room air out, but don't catch a cold. That's what the doctor said

Holding the cup of warm water, Thea felt the chill inside her begin to dissipate.

She was both surprised and touched.

Thea hadn't expected Nicolas to be so good at taking care of people.

Is it because he's used to taking care of others that he's so skilled at it?' she wondered.

Wrapped in Nicolas's jacket, which carried a faint scent of mint. Thea felt warmth spread through her body. She instinctively wanted to refuse. "It's okay, Mr. Hendrix. I'm not cold."

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the nurse, who was changing her IV, giving her a strange look, which made Thea feel uneasy.

Nicolas coughed lightly. "We're husband and wife, and there's no need to be so distant and polite

Thea became even more confused but didn't ask further.

Nicolas didn't stay long. "If you still feel unwell after the IV is done, I'll have someone arrange for you to stay in the hospital. Once you're feeling better, Darwin will take you home. I have some matters to attend to, so I need to leave now. Thea nodded. 'Alright,"

Watching Nicolas's figure disappear through the door, Thea shamefully felt a trace of reluctance.

Leaning back against the pillow, she closed her eyes, trying to calm her chaotic emotions.

No matter how many times Thea told herself to stay clear-headed, she couldn't control her growing feelings for him.

Perhaps Nicolas was too exceptional, and turning this affection into admiration seemed more appropriate.

Nicolas is indeed great, but he's not someone I can have. Without expectations, there won't be disappointment, she warned herself in her mind.
