Olympiad is Falling, The Rise of Artemis

Chapter 35- Alpheus

“Your majesty your brother is here to see you.” The giant grey ogre roared into the throne room.

I flinched. Honestly those things could not speak at a normal tone.

“Send him in.” I said.

“Yes your highness.”

He shook the earth beneath my feet as he walked out. I was hunched over my tactic table overlooking every city I’d conquered and yet to conquer. I waved my hand over it so Jason wouldn’t see it. I didn’t fully trust him. I knew he was going against our mother by trying to kill Daylen, but didn’t mean I trusted him not to do me in so he could claim all the glory.

He was an attention seeker like that. Didn’t care for Daylen, but something about Jason was he always wanted to seem something he was not. Thanks to my father. I’m nothing like Avon sometimes when I look in the mirror I see more of my mother than I do anyone else. It burns like acid on my skin if I’m being honest.

“Jason, what brings you here?” I ask as if I don’t know.

He marches in, scrawl on his face like the boy that hasn’t gotten what he wants. I wonder how I’m the youngest.

“You know why? Do you know what mother’s done with that fool?”

“Please share the latest gossip from Solaris’ castle.”

“This isn’t funny. You were supposed to take care of him!

I walked back to my throne and settled in it. I didn’t like to admit that Daylen had escaped my clutches too many times. He had my ticket to Olympiad cuddled next to him. I groaned. It was only a matter of time until the clock ran out on them and she was forced to come to me.

“In case you didn’t know Daylen is a powerful angel and wouldn’t let himself be outdone so easily.” I said calmly.

“What happened to your supposedly great armies?”

Like I would pull out soldiers from battle just to kill Daylen. That’s exactly the irrational stuff Jason would do. Maybe Paradis won’t be so hard to conquer when Jason becomes king that’s if he even does. I fight a smirk.

“He’s working with someone just as powerful I’m afraid. Besides… he barely comes down to the mage dimension not to mention the Dark dimension. We’re pretty much just lying in wait for our prey.”

The double doors opened and walked in Turner and the ogre. They must be anxious about having the prince of Paradis here. If only they knew he was the tool we’d been searching for. I motioned for them to stay.

“I don’t have time to wait Alpheus. Mother wants to send him to Olympiad with the soldiers of light. That should be me going. I’m the crown prince.”

I scratched my day old beard. I wouldn’t say I blame her. Jason wasn’t cut for war. I should have told him that. Instead I said, “And what are you going to do about that?”

He grinded his teeth together. “I can give you access to Paradis.”

I saw Turner’s eyes go wide from the door. Jackpot. That’s exactly where I knew this would go. Dark wings can’t go into Paradis without being obliterated. A final death.

“When I say you I mean only you Alpheus. I know you can take Daylen out alone.”

I smirked, “Of course brother I know what to do. I know where to find him.”

When I do I know who’s going to be with him. My prize.

“You have to hurry. I can’t keep the portal open for long. Someone will eventual know it’s open. I’ll have to close it.”

“Don’t worry about it brother. Come by the next dawn Daylen will be a mystery.”

“You better hope so Alpheus.”

I frowned. It sounded like a threat. I didn’t let the frown last long enough. Jason wasn’t anyone to threaten me. What I needed him for was done. Once in Paradis I’d have to figure out a way to cheat the portal so my armies could come in.

I watched my brother leave. Now I had to get ready to destroy my other brother. I was no fool it would be no easy feat and with a goddess by his side it would damn difficult.

Once in Paradis I knew better than to seek Jason out. He’d done his part and I wasn’t dead. I counted myself lucky this was a gamble too. I knew Daylen’s apartment that was the first place I knew to go. A fancy upscale building where all the elite dinemus angels lived.NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

Most angels had the power of discernment and especially against dark wings. I trusted Jason’s magic was strong enough to take care of that or else there would be a bunch of dead bodies in my wake. It was late in the dimension so a lot of angels were in doors. So the entrance to the building was almost abandoned.

Expect for the building manager behind the front desk he looked up and his face went red instantly.

“Prince Alpheus… you… you shouldn’t be here.”

I rolled my eyes. I didn’t have to worry about the power of discernment I had to worry about my popularity in this dimension. I almost forgot I was a prince here.

“Don’t worry I’m here to visit my brother he’s expecting me.”

He shook his head vigorously, “No, dark wings must not be in Paradis.”

“Even the prince? Sounds a bit unfair.”

“I’m sorry your highness. You can’t be here. In fact, it should be impossible.”

I could lie that I got my wings back, but it wasn’t possible.

“You really should have pretended you didn’t see me. Now I have to take care of you.”

His eyes went wide and with a blast of dark fire I sent him into a deep unconscious state. I liked him for still addressing me by my former titles. So I let him live. Now to get to my brother and claim the woman that was rightfully mine
