Chapter 33
"I don't trust you, too."
Sabrina got up from on top of Nelson and sat by the side.
She felt it was ridiculous that there was no trust between them.
Nelson wasn't in a hurry. He leisurely put a cigarette in his mouth.
"Let's talk about this when you do trust me."
Sabrina felt a strong urge to give him a good kick. He had leverage over her because of the brooch. She sighed.
"I have an idea."
…
Ronaldo arrived at Villa No. 6, Windermere Street.
With his legs crossed, Nelson sat on a light brown couch to smoke. There seemed to be a scratch on his neck.
Sabrina sat on a one-seater couch with her arms crossed. It was an awkward atmosphere.
"Give this to Gerald."
Ronaldo was confused as he held the brooch box.
"Isn't this for Sabrina? Why give it to Gerald?"
"Just do as I say. Stop with the questions," Nelson said coldly.
Ronaldo hummed in acknowledgment.
Nelson had called him over just to have him give the repaired brooch to Gerald.
"After you give it to Gerald, tell him to call Sabrina."
Nelson emphasized the word "Sabrina".
Ronaldo left, leaving Nelson and Sabrina to stare at each other through a wisp of smoke.
Nelson thought about Sabrina's plan. He was okay with Sabrina not trusting him. She disagreed even when he suggested handing the brooch to Ronaldo as a compromise. She only trusted Gerald.
"Are you satisfied?" Nelson asked.
Sabrina's long, thick eyelashes fluttered as she looked at him and said, "Yes, I'm very satisfied."
Nelson chuckled as he sized up Sabrina.
"I hope you will satisfy me later."
Sabrina looked away and didn't respond.
It would take at least half an hour to reach Ronaldo's place from here. Neither one of them looked friendly. They simply remained where they were and locked in a standoff.
Finally, Sabrina's phone rang.
She felt Nelson's cold gaze on her. Although he made her uncomfortable, she didn't care.
She answered the phone and said gently, "Hello, Gerald."
"Sabrina, are you free tomorrow? I'll bring you the brooch."
Sabrina inexplicably felt aggrieved and wanted to cry. She wondered how things turned out the way they did with Nelson.
"I'll treat you to a meal tomorrow after I get off from work."
Sabrina pulled herself together as she spoke. NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
Nelson heard Sabrina sweetly invite Gerald to a meal like he didn't even exist. He got up and approached her. He pinned her against the one-seater couch.
Sabrina gasped and hurriedly said, "Gerald, let's stop here for now. I'm hanging up."
"Go on and chat with him."
Nelson raised an eyebrow while stroking Sabrina's chin. Sabrina ignored the discomfort from his touch and met his gaze.
Then, she kissed him. At this point, she wasn't any different from those who groveled at their customers.
He lowered his gaze.
She was startled when her phone rang again.
Nelson picked up her phone and glanced at it, saying, "It's Gerald."
Sabrina felt dizzy. She wanted to grab the phone, but Nelson held it out of her reach. She looked at him pleadingly, hoping he wouldn't answer. The moment she lowered her head, she heard him accept the call.
