Chapter 259
Chapter 259
"What is it?" Luna was curious.
"I need a trigger." Oscar leaned closer and said in a voice that only Trissy and Luna could hear, "Mr. Justin Thomas is going to be discharged soon. As long as he leaves the hospital and goes back, Lucas' position will be secured."
"Then what can we do?" Luna looked at Oscar doubtfully. "Do you want us to persuade Mr. Justin Thomas?
Luna thought of being humiliated by Justin a few days ago, she bit her lip and shook her head. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
"I have a type of medicine. Normal people won't be affected after having it, but for people who have just recovered from a serious illness, they will tend to fall asleep." Oscar said softly, "It doesn't have side effects. It will just let Mr. Thomas rest for a few days. Stall for a few days and my dad will help me get support from the other directors."
"Have you lost your mind?" Luna covered her mouth as she exclaimed.
"How could we harm Mr. Justin Thomas? If we were discovered, we would be finished!" Trissy's hands were trembling in fear.
"Mr. Thomas is MY grandfather." Oscar looked at Luna and Trissy, and suddenly laughed at himself." Although he doesn't admit me, I don't want to hurt him."
"Why do you think I can do it when you can't even do it yourself?" Luna regained her composure and said lightly.
"I don't think Mr. Justin Thomas would want to see me. I don't want him to suffer, either. He is, after all, my father's father. All I want is a few days." Oscar looked righteous. "You may go to visit him and take the chance to swap the medicine. As long as you make it, we'll be united. I will marry you."
"Why should I trust you?" Luna shook her head and said, "That's too risky. What if I didn't make it? My reputation would all be ruined. And I might end up in prison. Even if I make it, I don't think you can do as well as Lucas."
Luna then grabbed her bag and stood up. "I won't take the risk."
With that, Luna left with Trissy.
Oscar did not leave his seat. He had been watching the back of Luna and Trissy.
When Luna pushed open the door of the coffee shop, she turned back to look at Oscar, and Oscar also stared at her. Their eyes met, and Oscar revealed a smile.
Luna hurriedly turned her head and quickly followed Trissy.
"Luna, isn't he insane? He actually wants us to drug Justin. If Lucas finds out, we'll be doomed."
When he returned home, Trissy collapsed on the sofa and spoke to Luna.
"We'd better stay away from him. I don't want to get involved just because of some nasty idea he came up with."
Then Trissy realized that Luna had been drowned in her own thoughts. She didn't reply to Trissy. Thus, Trissy said, "Luna, say something."
"I don't feel well now. I need to have a rest."
Luna left Trissy alone in the living room and returned to her room. She gently locked the door and lay on the bed, thinking quietly.
She had just rejected Oscar, not because she did not want to take the risk.
Luna found what Oscar said feasible. But she didn't want Trissy to get involved. She was afraid that Trissy might expose their plan. After all, Trissy was so scared of Lucas.
Yet Luna was a thrill seeker. She dared to stop the car for Lucas. She dared to replace Jessica at the wedding. She did what she did for what she might get.
Luna had pondered what Oscar offered. She believed that Oscar was a better fit for her.
Since Oscar married her for the benefits, he would keep secrets.
She did not need love. What she needed was a well-off life.
With that, Luna immediately sat up. She leaned against the bed, took out her phone, and then checked the call record. She found Oscar's number and called back.
The phone rang three times before it was picked up. Oscar's proud and confident voice came from the other side of the line.
"You've thought it through, Miss Cheek."
