hapter 15 A Warning
ermaine was a beautiful 25–year–old who was good at her job. She generally looked stern and aloof, and ar demeanor was somewhat domineering, perhaps because she spent too much time in the company of
CEO
drian had already left in his Lamborghini. Farrah did an online search on his car model and was imbfounded when she saw the price. It was worth millions of dollars!
re you trying to catch Mr. Locke’s attention? Don’t waste your time–you might end up getting burned.” armaine warned icily.
irrah was surprised by someone suddenly appearing behind her. When she turned to face Germaine, the tter gave her a sharp look. “Stay away from Mr. Locke.”
ter that, she left.
Who are you? What gives you the right to warn me off? Mind your own business!” Farrah cried at her ick. “Why can’t he and I be together? It’s not like we’re of different breeds!”
se’d had enough of this mockery. She didn’t want to hold herself back anymore!
ermaine stopped, her brows furrowing into a scowl. She didn’t know how long it had been since imeone had dared to speak to her like that. She was the CEO’s secretary–countless people wanted to ick up to her!
ermaine slowly turned around, her cold gaze locking onto Farrah and darkening as she watched the tter head to the bus stop.
he bus had yet to arrive. Farrah checked the stops and saw that one bus line would take her directly to oral Spring Residences, which was only four stations away.
aking a cab would definitely be more expensive than taking the bus. It was almost time for Mason to pay s tuition, so she had to save whatever she could.
ist then, her phone rang. It was a call from Adrian. She rolled her eyes at the screen before answering it. What’s up?”
Il send you an address on WhatsApp,” he said. “I want you to come over right now.”
Why should I?” Anger surged in Farrah. That morning, he’d ignored her in the lobby, making her look like a ol. She’d been mocked and made fun of at the design department for the whole day!
drian ignored her little tantrum. “Come over now if you want to keep your job.” Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
s tone was calm and devoid of any threat. It was as if he were telling her the choice was hers. He hung i without another word.

irrah didn’t have a chance to say anything else. She had no idea where she was supposed to go. She lecked her What up for the location and saw it was a distance from her, there weren’t any buses there,
ther.
avoid pissing Adrian off, she had no choice but to take a cab there. Only after she arrived did she alize it was an upscale restaurant. The setting sun outside reflected off the building, mixing in nicely th the warm lights inside.
ie was confused and about to call Adrian to verify the location when she saw his driver approach her. enneth Hill was close to 50 and dressed casually–he looked easygoing. “This way, please, Ms. Tate.”
drian had instructed him to wait there for her. Farrah smiled at him and followed him into the restaurant.
Chapter 15A Waning
Then, they headed upstairs.
The restaurant was decorated in a retro style, and the spiral staircase was quite impressive. The banister even had wooden carvings.
Farrah wondered whether Adrian was treating her to dinner. Kenneth led her upstairs and pushed open a door. “Inside here, Ms. Tate.”
“Thank you,” she said. She entered the room to see Adrian sitting at the round table with his legs crossed elegantly. Kenneth didn’t join her. Instead, he shut the door.
Adrian watched her curiously, which made her feel nervous, like she was there for an Interview. Since finding out his true identity, she couldn’t help feeling on edge around him.
The fragrance of the dishes filled the room–there were at least 20 exquisite and dainty dishes on the table. In Farrah’s family, there would only be such a spread during holidays.
“Have a seat, Mrs. Locke.” Adrian smiled faintly, a hint of tenderness in his eyes as he looked at her.
Farrah’s throat clenched, feeling like this was more of a trap than anything. “You can just spit out whatever you have to say. You don’t have to do this in such a roundabout way.” She felt like there was a blade swinging above her head, waiting to fall at any moment.
