CHAPTER 12
CHAPTER 12
"They were not just anyone, they were my buddies, Marcus." She responded, but later on, she understood that she didn't have to explain. "So, if you were about to send me some flowers, you best not do it!" She jested as the flowers within the greenhouse were nicer than those at the flower store, and when it came to flower arranging, she was an expert.
"I'm pleased that I don't have a plan to present you some flowers," Marcus lied since he had been thinking of taking her on a date, with a bouquet of flowers and chocolates before coming back to Hacienda Velasquez.
"Good," she said but deep down, she was aching. Even though she had a greenhouse full of bright and gorgeous flowers, she would be pleased if he would offer her a bouquet. She went up to the line of yellow roses and cut a dozen of it. It's the hue of sunshine, optimism and pleasure. It also symbolizes enthusiasm, optimism, enlightenment and loyalty. But yellow also denotes cowardice and deception. Exactly like her recent circumstances. She was a coward for being unable to tell him the truth, and she continued to fool herself into believing that she would be alright without him.
"Is there a problem, Dani?" Marcus inquired as the woman fell quiet. As she put the flowers in a flower vase, her eyes were sorrowful, and he wished he could console her.
"It's insignificant, Marcus. "I was simply thinking about my father," she claimed. "How is the annulment proceeding?" She trusted him to begin the processing immediately, knowing that she couldn't remain in this state indefinitely and that the most effective defence was offensive. That is just what she did.
"Do not be concerned, Dani. I got the paperwork yesterday, and as a result, I may need to ask you to sign it later." The forms had not been completed yet, but he may have to do so quickly later. The woman was correct; the sooner the better, and it benefited them both.
Daniella gave a nod. "Just remember me later," she responded, avoiding eye contact with Marcus and concentrating on the floral arrangement.
"What's the rush, Dani, to cancel the marriage?" It irked his pride that the woman had lost interest in him.
"This is common, Marcus. We both recognize that the marriage was improper and was imposed on you. Don't worry; I'll be a nice mother to our kid, and I'll occasionally send you photographs of her." Daniella congratulated herself on her bravery and wisdom.
"You're correct. You have no sentiments for me, and I am similarly indifferent. It would be unjust if we continued to live as husband and wife despite our lack of love for one another." He agreed with her to save his dignity. To begin, he should not have liked her. He should have relied on his sense that the woman would only bring future problems!
Daniella felt as if her heart had been ripped into small bits when he proclaimed that he has no affections for her or anyone else. She anticipated it and was prepared. However, why was it still excruciatingly painful? Her hands were cold and trembling and lumps formed in her throat, which she struggled to swallow. She worked hard not to weep.
"Is there any way to speed the process?" She inquired after gathering her emotions.
"I'll see to it, Dani." He despised her for continuing to discuss their annulment.
"Hmmm, about your child, please refrain from sending me images until a paternity test has been established."
The audacity!
She was unable to proceed with the floral arrangement due to her anger. Mugsy, the nickname she gave her unborn kid, and her unborn child would be better off without Marcus.
"No issue," she falsely stated. She regularly lied to Marcus. It would never be her fault if the guy refused to embrace his role as Mugsy's father, and she would never humiliate herself by pleading with him.
When she consented to the paternity test, Marcus grinned. While he was the first to have her, it was insufficient to presume that he was the one who had her. "At the very least, we agree on a few points. Therefore, may I assist you with the flowers?" He inquired when he observed Daniella had ceased her activity.
"I am capable, Marcus. If you like to assist, please proceed outdoors and play with Sky." She congratulated herself once more on learning the art of concealing her genuine emotions. She has ceased to be honest to herself as a result of Marcus, and has developed into a liar.
"Sky?" Marcus had nothing against the Great Dane, but how could he ignore the fact that Daniella used to treat her like a dog in Hong Kong? He could still see himself with a pet cone and a leash around his neck till today.
She observed Marcus paused before responding, and she surmised that he might not want to play with her dog. "Ignore if you're not in the mood to play with Sky," she remarked as she resumed the flower arrangement. Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
"I'm about to leave...to play with your dog." Marcus responded and exited the greenhouse in search of the Great Dane.
