The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet

Chapter 2122

"Come on, you can't be serious," Charlotte shot Hertha a look that could freeze boiling water.

Even though she had moved on from Lysander and clarified her feelings—she was head over heels for Richard and wanted to be with him—that didn't mean she had to play nice with Thalassa and her bestie.

She couldn't stand Thalassa. Not one bit! Thalassa's mere presence was a constant reminder of her own failures. She was supposed to be engaged to Lysander, yet she lost to a woman who couldn't even get through the Sinclair family's front door!

Every time she saw Thalassa, it felt like a slap in the face, telling her she wasn't good enough.

"Sure, sure, you two are just perfect for each other," Hertha said with a laugh, eager to change the subject. In her mind, she was thinking, 'Now that you're taken, hopefully, you'll leave Thalassa's man alone. Marry Richard quickly, so no one else sets their eyes on Thalassa's husband.'

"Take your time on your date; we won't disturb you," Hertha suddenly became the epitome of kindness and understanding, leaving them to their privacy. She then turned to Thalassa, urging her to enjoy her meal and not bother the lovebirds.

Charlotte could tell Hertha was poking fun at her, but without proof, she felt uncomfortable voicing her discontent. Richard, ever so perceptive, got the hint from Hertha and Thalassa's exchange and knew Charlotte well enough. He quickly poured her a cup of tea, trying to soothe the tension. "Here, have some tea, it'll calm you down."

Charlotte just glared at him, staying silent.

A week later.

Thalassa and Lysander, along with Hertha and Alaric, celebrated their wedding at a picturesque

farmhouse. Lysander was dressed in a bespoke black tuxedo, fitting his mode like physique perfectly making him look like a deity among men, exuding an aura of quality. He greeted the guests with a grace and poise that was all his own.

Alaric, on the other hand, was the polar opposite in a pristine white suit, his playful and slightly rogue charm making him stand out. He greeted the guests with a wide smile and open arms.

While the grooms were busy

entertaining, backstage in the dressing room, the brides were far from ready. Thalassa had just slipped into her wedding gown when Hertha's cry from the other dressing room pierced the air, "Ah! It won't zip up! Did I gain weight? No way!"

Hertha's frantic voice caught Thalassa's attention. Before she

even had a chance to sit down at the makeup table, she hurried to the dressing room door, concerned.

"What's wrong, Hertha, do you need help?"

"Thalassa, come here and help me," Hertha pleaded, sounding like she had just seen a lifeline. As soon as she finished speaking, the door unlocked. Thalassa pushed the door open to find Hertha turning her back to her. "Quick, help me zip this up. I can't seem to do it myself. It was fine when I last tried it on, and now it's just not happening."

"Did you manage to zip it up by yourself last time?" Thalassa asked as she searched for the zipper.RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

"Yeah, last time Alaric was in the restroom, and I did it myself," Hertha responded. "I absolutely love this dress; it just has to work today."
