Chapter 91
Chapter 91
Jamie showed up at Adrian's place.
"What brings you here?" Adrian asked Jamie in surprise. "Did you bump into my sis and Ronan?"
"Yep." Jamie answered, looking pale.
It seemed they were getting along pretty well; it didn’t look like they were faking it. Even though
Cordelia looked a bit resistant when Ronan kissed her, it didn't prove anything.
"I think Cordelia and Ronan are deeply into each other. You guys won't be able to break them up, so
you might as well drop that idea." Kendra spoke with a sharp tone.
She intentionally lured Ronan over just now. Of course, she knew Jamie would come because it was
she who texted him.
Jamie might have already seen Cordelia and Ronan together.
Kendra just wanted Jamie to know that his feelings for Cordelia were pointless.
"Jamie, don't get it twisted. Ronan went upstairs because he disdained Cordelia for cleaning up her
clothes, thinking it damaged his image. He scolded Cordelia loudly. When she didn't listen, he picked
her up and left, saying that he was going to teach her a lesson at home. You should go check on her."
Adrian said hastily.
Jamie's eyes filled with anger immediately. "What did you say?"
Then he turned around and left.
"Jamie! Jamie…" Kendra called out from behind, but Jamie was walking too fast. Kendra was only in a
towel, so she couldn’t go out and could only call his name anxiously.
"This is all your doing!" Kendra said to Adrian.
"How dare you accuse me? You think I don't know what you're up to? Okay, let's say we both have a
part in this! I want Jamie to chase after my sister! He saw you in my bed, but did he react? No. He only
has my sis in his heart, so you better give up." Adrian said sarcastically.
Kendra felt very angry. She liked Jamie, but he told her that he had someone else in his heart, asking
her not to like him anymore.
Kendra wasn't willing to accept that. She told Jamie that if he didn't agree to be with her, she would do
something extreme. She would sleep with Adrian.
She purposely texted Jamie to come over today, wanting him to see it. She didn't expect Cordelia to
come back too. So Kendra lured Ronan over again.
...
Ronan and Cordelia were back home.
Ronan carried Cordelia directly to the upstairs bathroom. When he went upstairs, he asked Janice at
home to bring up the medicine for treating sprains.
He turned on the hot water, prepared a stool for Cordelia, then rolled up his sleeves, squatted down,
and started washing Cordelia's feet with hot water.
Cordelia's foot instinctively pulled back a bit. She felt a bit uncomfortable with Ronan washing her feet.
"Stay still." Ronan held her foot.

washed with hot water, the warmth spread throughout her body.
Cordelia felt very comfortable, as if she had returned to her childhood. She hadn't experienced this kind
of intimacy in a long time.
He deliberately pressed lightly on the swollen part of Cordelia's foot.
"Does it feel good?" He looked up at Cordelia.
The moment their eyes met, Cordelia felt an intimate emotion flowing between them.
She stared into Ronan's eyes, feeling a bit weird. He seemed to be both her father and her husband.
Cordelia even had the impulse to kiss him.
"Why are you always staring into my eyes?" Ronan noticed that Cordelia liked to gaze into his eyes.
Cordelia came to her senses and said, "Your eyes are beautiful."
Ronan seemed to be in a good mood; he asked again, "Does it feel good?"
Cordelia nodded; she was in a good mood too. "It feels great."
Ronan continued to wash Cordelia's feet with hot water, his movements gentle.
The bathroom was quiet; only the sound of the water was audible, as if time had stopped.
Then noisy voices came from downstairs. Janice seemed to be preventing something. There was a
male voice shouting. "Who the hell is he to hit Cordelia?"
Then there was a noise like someone was coming upstairs, and soon Ronan's door opened.
Ronan frowned slightly. He looked very angry.
Cordelia already recognized that it was Jamie's voice; she didn't know what had happened.
Ronan washed his hands under the tap, wiped them with a towel, and walked out.
"Where's Cordelia? What did you do to Cordelia?" Jamie's voice came in.
Janice walked into the bathroom. She was applying medicine to Cordelia's foot, so Cordelia couldn't
walk for the moment.
"I didn't bother you, but you came to me." Ronan said sarcastically.
Jamie didn't respond; he just stood there.
"How I treat my wife is none of your business." Ronan spoke calmly. "Jamie, didn't anyone tell you what
happens when you barge into someone's house without permission?"
"What did you do to Cordelia? Where's Cordelia?" Jamie scanned the room.
To avoid a conflict, Cordelia said to Janice. "Janice, could you speed it up a bit?"
"I'm massaging my wife's foot. You want to watch that kind of private stuff?" Ronan spoke calmly. He
sat on the sofa as if Jamie were just a minor underling of his.
Jamie was somewhat shocked.
"You make all kinds of dramatic moves to lure my wife, then invite her to your office for a tour, entice
her to fill out a resume, and arrange an interview for her when she's at work. Jamie, you're quite the
scheming man." Ronan listed Jamie's actions. "You're fully prepared to play the third wheel, but do you
really have the guts to snatch someone from me?"
When Ronan said that, Jamie was clearly at a loss, not knowing how to respond. How the heck did
Ronan know all these things? Did Cordelia tell him? Were they really that close?
Cordelia was also flabbergasted. How on earth did Ronan know all these things? How come he knew it
as if he had seen it with his own eyes?
And what else was he in the dark about?
