Chapter 109
Chapter 109
1x dad said that it he could be a little better behaved, Natalie would like him even more. So today, he
cleaned his plate, not leaving even a single pea behind,
“Way to gol Natalie couldn’t help but bend down and plant a kiss on Nate’s forehead, laughing as she
wased the traces of sauce from his cheeks.
She didn’t get it how could Madelyn not love Nate who was so adorable?
Natalie, can I go home with you today?” Nate asked, pushing his luck.
Natalie thought for a moment and replied, “Sorry, buddy, you’ve got your own home.”
“Just for one night!” Nate pleaded earnestly, holding up his little finger. “I wanna have pancakes for
breakfast!”
Natalie didn’t respond, just scooped him up and headed for the bathroom.
Outside, Brian turned away, gazing through the window at Natalie washing Nate’s hands.
…The hacker from the sixth floor knocked on Natalie’s door this morning and waited a bit, but she’d
gone to Majestic Meadows Manor and wasn’t home,” Reid whispered into the phone, “They might know
each other. But it’s hard to say for sure. It could also be something like a lost item.” Reid continued.
Brian had gone through Natalie’s computer but found nothing. She might have hidden files that
required a special path to access.
“How did Kellan get his medication the other day? Did you find out?” Brian asked after a few seconds
of silence.
Reid responded with uncertainty, “Apparently, it’s a wealthy relative named Uriah who has been pulling
strings for him. After his parents‘ tragic demise in a car crash, Kellan chose to liquidate his family
assets back home and relocate to Bluestar, banking on Uriah’s support.”
Brian pondered for a moment then asked, “What does Uriah do?”
“He’s in the wine business and owns a big vineyard with hundreds of acres of orchards. He’s got some
clout in Bluestar.”
Kellan going to Uriah without joining the family business sounded suspicious.
After a pause, Brian instructed in a low voice, “Keep an eye on him until he’s discharged.”
Natalie walked up to Brian with Nate in tow, just as Brian was ending his call.
She glanced at his phone and thought he’d been on a long call with Madelyn. Then, she offered
politely, “If you’re busy, I can take Nate home.”
“Everyone has had a long day.” Brian said, meeting her gaze softly; “Majestic Meadows Manor is quite
a drive, and Nate might get tired. Let’s rest at your place for a bit.” This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
Natalie expected Brian to leave immediately but was surprised when he suggested going to her place.
Before she could come up with an excuse, Brian had already scooped Nate up and headed outside.
Natalie wetched his retreating back for a few seconds before following him with a hint of
annoyance.
They were among the last to leave the daycare. The teachers and the principal at the door greeted
them respectfully. “Mr. Howard, Mrs. Howard, were you satisfied with the event today?”
Tm not Mrs. Ho…” Natalie began awkwardly.
“It was fine.” Brian cut her off before she could finish and responded to the staff with a cool nod, then
continued toward the parking lot with Nate in his arms.
When Natalie saw Reid standing at her door with a laptop, she knew Brian wasn’t going to leave
anytime soon.
“Mr. Howard…” Reid started, clearly anxious. He had barely gotten two words out before Brian
gestured for him to stop.
Natalie could tell Reid had urgent news for Brian, which was perfect timing. Both she and Nate were
exhausted, one with emotional fatigue, the other with physical hurt. Nate was dozing off in Brian’s
arms, ready to slump over at any second.
