Chapter 58
Chapter 58
“Have you truly let go? Yet here you are, seemingly concerned about me. You’re making noise about the divorce and are still unwilling to tell the elders the truth,
Jerome stated.
Mikayla chuckled inwardly.
Jerome never believed she would actually seek a divorce. Probably no one who knew her did.
This was the outcome of her infatuated mind.
Persuading her uncle and aunt to approve the divorce posed a significant challenge.
The family business was currently under their control, and for the sake of her grandfather, she couldn’t afford to create a rift.
Their opposition would persist unless she gained enough power to wield absolute authority.
She needed to amass wealth and establish a career swiftly.
“Is this what you mean by concern?” Mikayla gestured toward the thermos.
“I did bring this specifically for you. Grandma instructed me to oversee your drinking it.”
Jerome felt a headache. He assumed it was the same ploy as last time.
“Take it away. I don’t have time for your antics.”
“This is a special ‘kidney–strengthening‘ medicine recommended by at renowned doctor,” Mikayla emphasized the words “kidney–strengthening“.
“I will watch you finish it and record a video for Grandma.”
Jerome understood what Mikayla was thinking from her tone. His handsome
face darkened.
“Pour it away.
Mikayla regretted it.
She said, “These are Grandma’s sincere intentions. Are you sure you want to
waste them?”
Jerome closed his eyes.
“Mikayla, if you continue to make trouble, I don’t mind showing you in practice. whether I need kidney–strengthening.”
Mikayla caught the threat in Jerome’s words:
She put down the thermos and said gently, “I understand your masculine
dignity must not be compromised. It’s okay. You can secretly drink the
medicine when no one is around.”
When Jerome’s cold gaze swept over, Mikayla briskly retreated to the office
door.
“Who has the time to care about you? Arrogant egomaniac!”
Having said that, Mikayla coldly snorted and left with her head held high.
Mike watched Mikayla walk away before he entered the inner office.
“Mr. Miller, are you okay?”
“What does her condition have to do with me?”
Feeling irritated with a headache coming on, Jerome instructed, “Take the thermos out and throw it away!”
Mike picked up the thermos. It emitted a strong herbal smell.
“Mr. Miller, what is this for, and why don’t you drink it?”
Jerome replied in an unpleasant tone, “If you’re so curious, drink it yourself to
find out.”
Mike was left speechless.
“I’ll pour it away now.”
Mikayla thought that Jerome was a sneaky eavesdropper who remained arrogantly self–righteous.
She seethed in the car, expressing her frustration.
She cursed him for his renal deficiency. Marrying him would only mean. becoming a widow! Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
After more than ten minutes, Mikayla arrived at the beauty salon.
She prepared her card and then sent the room number to Betty. Betty soon
arrived at the VIP room.
Today, Betty was dressed more formally than the last time at home. She looked rich and elegant. She wore a Chanel black coat and held a Hermès handbag.
Mikayla greeted her with a smile.
“Betty, you’re here.”
Betty smiled as she said, “There was a bit of traffic on the way, so I’m late. I
apologize.”
“No problem, I just arrived. Let’s start with the spa. I’ve booked the best
technician here.”
After a simple rinse, they lay on the beauty bed.
Mikayla casually asked, “Betty, has Mr. Lane been busy lately?”
Betty replied, “Quite busy.”
After a few brief sentences, they began to enjoy the massage.
Mikayla handed Betty a beauty tea and started chatting, “Betty, how long have you and Mr. Lane been married? Both of you must share a very deep
relationship, right?”
