Devoted To You

Chapter 25 If that’s why you’re here, give it up.

Chandler still didn’t move much. She took a look and saw that he still refused to get up before she left with her things and got annoyed.

On the way back, she was still a little hesitant, her head couldn’t help but keep replaying the scene from earlier.

He had also treated her like this, and at that time she was dying. But back then, did he ever go soft?Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

No, he did not have a soft heart.

Susan trembled, her heart was torn by these two feelings. She walked out of the place and looked at the street light not far away, she was in a trance again.

When she looked back in that direction, Susan’s heart felt like it was touched by something, and finally hesitated and went back.

The light of the phone turned on, and she followed the way she came back to find it. When she got there, she only saw a red puddle of blood on the ground.

Susan froze and then laughed. She was really too stupid to be fooled by him again.

Returning home with a tired body, Susan poured cool water over her face before she was almost awake.

Looking at the person in the mirror, she couldn’t help but stare. She was getting older, and she had a little bit of energy left in her.

But what can she do, she is an unpleasant one after all. They took away all of her, including happiness, and now what is left of her, only this broken body left to wander the world.

This body that even the hell does not want, she unconsciously smothered a bitter laugh.

As she closed her eyes, she couldn’t help but flash his face in her mind again. But she was too tired to think about it. When she finally woke up, she hurriedly washed her hands and went out.

The next morning, she went back to sit in the office. There was no one coming over at this time, so she had a chance to clear her head.

At the point of work, Alex pushed the door open and walked in right on time.

“What happened to you yesterday? So anxious.” Alex looked at her steadily, and his tone was not as impatient as last night.

Susan paused and smiled again, “It’s nothing.”

Alex understood, his eyes darkened: “In that case, I will not ask more questions. Just be careful.”

“Yeah.” She smiled reluctantly.

He was about to say a few more words when the door over there was suddenly opened and the secretary walked over quickly and nervously, “Miss Gray, there is a man outside who claims to be Mr. O’Connor’s father who wants to see you.”

Susan subconsciously glanced at the person in front of her, who was also frowning in annoyance, Susan looked at the secretary and nodded gently.

“Please come to the parlor, I’ll be right there.”

“No need for you to come.” A voice answered outside the door, and she saw an old, grizzled man walk in before she could get out.

Susan saw him and immediately got up from her chair and greeted him softly, “Good day Mr. O’Connor.”

“Shut up.” Peterson O’Connor glared at her, and then said angrily, “Don’t think I don’t know what kind of person you are.”

Susan smiled and her face remained unchanged. On the contrary, the secretary on the side, surprised, looked at her, saw that she did not have a big reaction, and immediately left the place.

Alex walked over, and his face was not too good, and asked Peterson, “Why did you come over?”

“You ask why I came over? You bastard! If I hadn’t read in the newspaper that this fiancée of yours is a married person, I would have come over?” He looked at Susan with contempt, then at Alex, and said angrily, “You bastard, you treat someone else’s unwanted shit as a treasure.”

Alex turned pale and before he could say anything, Peterson looked at Susan again coldly and said, “I want you to leave him now.”

“Sure.” She agreed with a light expression.

Alex remained expressionless, like a wooden stake, and said, “If you’re here for this, give up while you can …”

“Give up?” Peterson grunted coldly and plucked out another fierce glance at Susan. This woman not only killed his own family but also charmed his own son to the point of obsession.

“You want to marry her, I don’t agree. If you marry her, don’t enter the O’Connor family’s door for the rest of your life, and I’ll pretend I didn’t have you as a son!”

Peterson spoke angrily.

But he completely underestimated Alex’s persistence. Looking at the man in front of him, Alex said softly, “Fine.”

The other people in the room were stunned, and Susan paused.

Peterson, however, was furious and looked at his son with hatred, but he no longer cared.

Alex continued to irritate him as if he didn’t hear, “If you have nothing to do, go ahead and take care of the mess.”

“Asshole!” His face turned red, but he couldn’t find anything to say, his eyes wandered back and forth between their faces, and then left.

The office door was closed with a clang, and Susan shuddered, looking at the man in front of her and asking softly, “Are you angry?”

“No.” He denied it in a hard voice.

She wanted to continue to ask questions, but heard him say, “I still have something to do, I’ll leave first.”

“Well …” Susan had no objection and watched him leave, no one could see the intense longing in her eyes.
