Drawn to You: The Billionaire’s Second Wife

Chapter 4

Vanessa was still all ears to what Chloe was about to say, she kept wondering what was running in the mind of such a little girl.

“I’ll get back to you, ma’am Vanessa. I need to speak to my dad about it first before making decisions, that’s because he will help me sort it out.”Chloe stated.

Nessa watched the little girl climb down from her thigh, she headed out of her bakery without taking a glance backward.

“My little angel will always trigger me. I wonder who the mother is and how she will always feel when staring at her daughter,” Vanessa muttered silently while moving towards the oven.

Chloe took to her heels and left back home in a haste, she met her siblings sitting at the veranda discussing a particular issue she doesn’t care to know.

Their eyes met and they two moved towards her Instantly.

“Why would you always be disobedient? I ordered you not to leave that I’ll get you the cupcake, but you turned deaf ears to my order,” Tracy scolded her.

She contorted her face while taking a glance at her elder brother, “But you didn’t run after me to show how concerned you were, you only watched me dash out of the compound, and then you got seated waiting for my return.”

Ben held her ear, he squeezed it so that she threw the cupcake at him.”You’ll get me another one, my ear hurts so bad.”

He tried lifting her into his arms but she twitched away from their presence in the sitting room.

Her eyes met with that of her dad who was so busy with the laptop placed on the sofa.

“You’re back from your trip to the bakery? Don’t ever take such action again or I’ll stop you from taking cupcakes.” he scolded her.

She twisted her lips and got seated beside him not minding his mood. Her eyes studied his fingers as he began typing in some documents.

“Dad, I want to tell you something so important,” Chloe uttered, distracting her father’s attention from the laptop. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

He relaxed on the sofa while staring at her expecting her to go ahead with all she had to say.

“What’s the discussion all about? Hope it isn’t gonna spoil my mood now?” Xavier questioned his little daughter.

She smiled and grabbed his palm,” Since you decided not to let me visit ma’am Vanessa when I wish to, I’ll suggest you employ her to be my babysitter. To be honest dad, I don’t ever want to be missing her that much.”

Sir Xavier stared at his daughter completely, he wondered if she was okay upstairs.

“Why do you need a babysitter? It shouldn’t be okay now,” he remarked to her.

Chloe burst into tears, she shut the system down and persisted he will give a positive response to her request.

Xavier didn’t find it funny this time, he noticed the little girl isn’t taking it easy with him towards the request.

“I won’t let you be until you meet ma’am Vanessa and discuss with her about the job,” Chloe uttered amidst tears.

“But I don’t want to employ a babysitter in my home. For crying out loud, your siblings are here to take good care of you.” Xavier yelled at her.

She shook her head gripping his shirt, “I don’t want my siblings to babysit me, they won’t cuddle me like a baby just the way ma’am Vanessa would do. I love her so much.”

“You love her too, dad, or don’t you don’t love her again? I want a babysitter and it must be her.” She added.

Ben and Tracy overheard the loud voice of tears from the sitting room and decided to know what was going on. They’re so sure that Chloe is shedding tears but the fact that their father is there watching her is so weird.

They bumped in to get Chloe gripping her father’s shirt, her eyes were watery just like her cheeks.

“Chloe, you shouldn’t be doing that to dad, what’s going on with you?” Ben inquired while taking off her palms from the shirt.

Xavier wasn’t saying a word, the action of his little daughter kept reminding him of the past.

He reminisced on the memory shared with his late wife, and the memories she created with the children too.

If she hasn’t left them, the little girl will never demand a babysitter since the mother’s love and care would be enough for her.

For her to meet a lady that cuddles and treats her the way she hasn’t been treated for once, she needs a mother beside her. A lady that will understand her mentality and be ready to tolerate her childish behavior.

“I want a babysitter, but dad wouldn’t grant my request. I won’t let him rest until he does that,” Chloe uttered to the hearing of her siblings.

They two glanced at each other and burst out into laughter.

“We are here to babysit you, little angel, you don’t need a babysitter when we’re around,” Tracy announced.

She climbed to the sofa and gripped her dad again, “You two aren’t treating me like a mother, I want a babysitter,” she cried out.

“Shu… Shut your mouth please and stop distracting dad,” Tracy scolded her.

She glared at her and twisted her face, the expression on her face was full of anger at the moment.

“And you think you can escape from my distraction, none of you will have a rest of mind under this roof until my request is granted,” Chloe spluttered.

Ben got seated beside her, “Now tell me who the babysitter is, or dad will get you one? What if she’s that strict type and doesn’t treat you well?”

“Then she will be sacked, I can’t watch a stranger treat my sister so badly and I’ll keep mute.” Tracy replied instantly.

Xavier tried kicking her to attract her attention, “Mind you Tracy, don’t dare take laws into your hands.”

“I’ll do that if you aren’t around dad.” she persisted.

Chloe glanced at them serially and let out a loud hiss, “Ma’am Vanessa will be my babysitter.”

“But she owns a bakery!” The two screamed out in shock.

She nodded, “I know, but she can do it for me.”

“How sure are you that she will leave her business to come to babysit you here?” Xavier referred to Chloe who was staring at the movement of his lips.

She lifted her eyelids and smiled widely, “You’ll discuss it with her later.”

Xavier adjusted on his seat facing them, he read their faces serially.

“I don’t need a babysitter in this home, because I’ll be getting married to a woman that will care of the three of you,” he announced to their hearing.

Tracy stood forcefully on her feet, she believed it was just a prank.

“Just tell me you’re kidding dad because I can’t watch another woman step into this home in replace of my late mother. Never. I won’t let it happen.” She screeched out in anger.

Chloe glanced at her dad and then her siblings, “Even if you’ll get married dad, she’s your wife, not my babysitter. Ma’am Vanessa will be my babysitter and you get married too, they’re two different things.”

“Yours is kind of the worst, Chloe. What’s wrong with you upstairs? You need a babysitter and dad needs a wife, which means two women will have to be here. To be honest dad, I can’t take it. We can do everything in this home ourselves, I can take good care of myself and my siblings too.” Ben added.

Tracy sat beside her father, “You have children already, so getting a wife is of no use.”

“Guess who the lady is?” Xavier asked his children.

“We aren’t guessing dad, just promise us that you aren’t getting neither a babysitter nor a wife.”Ben spluttered.

He stared at them, the look on Chloe’s face might eat him up. But then he’s damn confused about the decision to take.

Chloe needs a babysitter. He needs a wife. But Tracy and Ben need none.

The decision to take that will be in their favor and he too is what he doesn’t know.
