Chapter 363
Minutes later, he came jogging back with a plastic bag in hand.
The car door swung open, and Tyrone climbed in, bringing with him a wave of heat. "Stretch out your arm."
Quintessa blinked in surprise. "Huh?"
"Your arm." Tyrone gestured for Quintessa to lift her right arm, then laughed. "The left one! Got sunburned and turned your brain to mush, huh?"
He unscrewed a bottle of rubbing alcohol and drew out two cotton swabs, dampening them. "This might sting a bit. Just bear with it."
The wound on Quintessa's arm, though shallow, was glaring. It had been inflicted by Lilian and had dried blood caked around it. Tyrone meticulously cleaned it, then pulled out a couple of Band-Aids to cover it up.This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
"That old woman, locked up in detention for long, who knows if she's even taken a shower, what kind of germs might be under her nails. Let's deal with it this way first, and then go to the hospital for a shot later."
Quintessa didn't feel the wound hurt at all, but it was Tyrone who had broken out in sweat.
Quintessa shrugged it off. "You're making a mountain out of a molehill. It's just a small wound; it doesn't need treatment."
"Aren't you worried about scars?"
"Who doesn't have a scar or two?"
"But I don't like seeing them."
There was a tremor in Quintessa's heart as she met Tyrone's gaze. His eyes, deep and dark, held warmth. She could even feel some affection.
Tyrone reached out and held the back of Quintessa's head, pressing towards her, and kissed her lips.
The midsummer sun blazed overhead as pedestrians hurried past. Tyrone's lips were soft and warm. Quintessa thought, perhaps, she really didn't resist.
Tyrone let go of Quintessa, his thumb slowly caressing her cheek. "I hate seeing you hurt, sad, and even less seeing you cry. I want to make you laugh. So, tell me, what should I do?"
Quintessa wanted to smile, but as she moved her mouth corners, she found it somewhat hard to actually smile. "I'm fine!"
She rarely cried. She increasingly felt
less sadness, and even when hurt, it seemed like she didn't know what pain was anymore. Quintessa was steering herself towards becoming invincible.
Originally, Quintessa thought all these didn't matter to her, as long as she was alive. But suddenly, someone they didn't want to see her like this, wanting to see her smile. Quintessa's defenses were shaken once more.
Suddenly, a knock on the window
disrupted their moment. Tyrone frowned and rolled down the window to see a traffic policeman standing outside. The officer handed Tyrone a ticket. "Illegal parking, a warning this time, that's a $20 fine."
The officer, recognizing Tyrone from a previous encounter where he boasted about affording to crash a car a day, remarked, "You again? Didn't you learn your lesson from yesterday? Two points deduction."
Tyrone was speechless.
Quintessa reached out to hold back Tyrone about to flare up. The officer was just doing his job, and they were in the wrong. She handed over $20 to the officer. "Having money doesn't mean you can waste it like this. Move along," the officer said, taking the money.
Quintessa gently tugged on Tyrone's hand. "Let's go."
Tyrone started the car, stepping on the gas and zoomed off.
He looked displeased, "Let's take a rest after finishing this movie."
