Fall For Me

Chapter 16

We turned to see Shanice walking toward where we stood

“Janet you should have known better, madame is not allowed to be out” Shanice yelled at Janet, I saw Janet lowering her hair and taking the blame for me, it wasn’t her fault and I was unhappy seeing her taking fault for me.

“It was my fault” I spoke up

“She should’ve known better,” Shanice said looking at me with annoyance

“I insisted” I replied

“If you say so madame,” She said trying to sound polite, It was obvious she was annoyed.

“I am sorry ma’am, it won’t repeat itself” Janet apologized to Shanice

“That’s okay, lead her to her room” Shanice ordered, And before I knew I was already headed to my room, At least I had gotten what I wanted, I was going to be free, I needed to utilize the fence, Hopefully, it would be able to scale through and break free from this bondage, I can’t stay here for one more day, I can’t even breath when he is near me, I will escape tonight.

As I was thinking of my plan we reached the door of my room within a few minutes

“I would like to be alone,” I told Janet softly

“Okay ma’am, what can I get you?” Janet asked

“I am fine,” I said

“Okay ma’am” Just as she turned to leave, I stopped her

“I am sorry for putting you in trouble today” I apologized to Janet, she looked me in the eye before dropping her head down quickly

“It is nothing, I am used to the scolding, Please don’t apologize to me,” Janet said with a cracking voice,

“How can I make it up to you?” I asked I was truly feeling guilty about what transpired a few minutes ago,

She thought for long before getting an idea as her face lit up

“Can I know what you would eat for lunch and dinner?” Janet smiled, I didn’t want to eat anything but I was truly hungry and they didn’t know that I was allergic too, I had no other option but to tell her.

“Pork chops for lunch, spaghetti bolognese for dinner” I answered.

She bowed her head and left. I felt really bad for her. Maybe if I left it would stop or probably reduce the number of scolding she would receive.

The day went by fast, I didn’t see the monster named Carson for the whole day, I was served lunch and dinner all alone in my room, he seemed to not be around, I thought now would be the perfect time to put my plan into action.

After dinner was served in my room and the table was cleared, Janet readied the bath for me and I cleaned up and wore the night dress that was provided for me to wear, I waited for complete silence, I lay on my bed pretending to sleep when Janet came to check on me for the last time that night, there were no clocks in my room so I didn’t know in specific what the time was, I waited for what seemed like forever and I thought probably everyone would’ve fallen asleep by now, I slowly stood up from my bed and adjusted my night robe. I quickly made a false body on my bed with pillows and I covered it up with the blanket I was using. I learned this trick when I was younger and my sisters and I were forced to sleep in our rooms. We would make these pillow bodies just so we could stay together. I do miss them so much.

I carefully opened the door, When I had successfully stepped out of the bedroom a mischievous smile appeared on my lips, I stepped into the hallway and the dim light of the hallway made it appear dark, I could barely see but I had a familiar layout of the mansion imprinted in my head so I wouldn’t get lost.

As I made my way downstairs towards the garden I felt my heart beating fast and loud, The rush wasn’t something I’d felt before, I got to the garden and I was met with a space, no one was there and I was grateful of how empty this place was it makes my work much easier, The air of the garden that brought about tranquility and peace, The flowers were calling to me and if I wasn’t in a hurry to leave this place I would’ve spent days sitting out here.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

It beckoned on me that time wasn’t on my side and I needed to act very fast before anyone noticed my absence, My eyes finally traced back to the lowered fence I had seen earlier today, it was just behind the garden shed, I slowly made my way to the fence to check if I would be able to jump out of it.

There were holes in the wall, It was perfect because I could use them while going over the wall, I was filled with excitement, I couldn’t believe I would be leaving soon, and any moment from now, I would be able to see my family again, Then the sudden thought of Carson coming back to take me to his home struck me, What if he comes to look for me and take me away again? What if he does terrible things to my family? I don’t want that, I was contemplating whether it was a good idea for me to leave or not, It was surely a hard decision.

I was still battling with my thoughts when I heard distant footsteps and saw a bright flashlight shining brightly from inside the house. Maybe it was Janet, Has she noticed that I wasn’t in bed?

I don’t want to be caught and then taken back into that room. I need to do something, as I cracked my brain for an idea I decided to hide behind the garden shed while the footsteps were getting louder and the flashlight was coming closer.

“Who is there” A man asked In a stern voice
