Chapter 259 The Passionate Kiss
"Shawn, how can you be so overbearing?" Norah couldn't hold back any longer and started pounding
his chest.
"Ouch... Ah, it hurts."
"Norah, you hit my wound," Shawn groaned in pain.
Norah immediately sobered up, realizing that he still had injuries, and the wound was torn quite badly.
She quickly withdrew her hand and asked with some concern, "Is it hurting a lot? Did it tear open NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
again? I'll call a doctor right away."
Hearing her words, Shawn smiled, his eyes filled with satisfaction. He reached out, gripping Norah's
hand, and said, "Norah, I knew you were just pretending not to care. As soon as you heard that you hit
my wound, look, you're more worried than anyone."
"Silly, you obviously care about me. Why won't you admit it?" He looked at her with deep affection,
hoping for a response.
However, Norah lowered her eyelids for a moment and quickly changed the subject, saying, "It's all
your fault, being too forceful and not showing any restraint. You've made my lips swollen and all red
now. How am I supposed to go to work?"
Shawn smiled as he grabbed her hand and, at the same time, reached out to gently caress her lips with
warm fingertips, showing an almost unbearable tenderness.
"Norah, I didn't do it on purpose. It's just that when it comes to you, I can't control myself."
"I've never been one to indulge in pleasures, but when it comes to you, I willingly surrender time and
time again in your presence."
Norah turned her head slightly, trying to suppress the warmth that welled up in her eyes. She didn't
want to show her emotions or shed tears in front of him.
"Let me go. I have to go back to work."
"Then kiss me, and I'll let you go."
Norah got angry, staring at him. "Shawn, don't push your luck."
In the next moment, she felt something soft on her forehead. Quickly, Shawn released her.
"Since you don't want to, I'll give you a kiss instead." And then he let go of her.
Norah exited the stairwell. She glanced around to ensure there were no onlookers. She discreetly
touched her lips, then headed back to her office.
Once in her office, Norah immediately went to the restroom.
When she saw her reflection in the mirror, her lips were red and slightly swollen. She had already
cursed at Shawn several times in her mind. Now, how was she supposed to go to work like this? She
felt increasingly embarrassed at the thought of her colleagues seeing her like this.
Fortunately, being in a hospital had its perks, and there were remedies readily available. After washing
her lips with warm water, Norah quickly reduced the swelling. Once the redness had subsided a bit, she
applied some orange-red lipstick to cover it up.
If you didn't look too closely, you might not notice.
Feeling relieved, she left the restroom, returned to her office, put on her white coat, and prepared to get
back to work.
After a busy stretch, Norah and her colleague, Dora Green, headed to the break room.
They had been hunched over a special patient for nearly two hours, with only a short break to change
positions.
Both of them were suffering from sore backs and decided to help each other by massaging their aching
muscles.
Norah grabbed a glass of water, but before she could take a sip, Dora's gaze was fixated on her lips,
scrutinizing them closely.
Norah's heart skipped a beat, thinking Dora might have noticed something. She began to feel a bit
anxious.
"Is something wrong with my lips?" Norah finally asked with a slight blush, licking her lips in the
process.
Just as she was about to finish her sentence, suddenly, Dora's face lit up with excitement. She nodded
repeatedly, saying, "Yes, yes, so beautiful. Absolutely stunning. Norah, in the past, you mostly wore
light-colored lipsticks. But today's lipstick is just extraordinary. I really, really love it.""What brand is it?
What shade? Quickly, quickly, share the recommendation. I want to get one too."
Norah breathed a sigh of relief, thinking Dora was referring to her lipstick. "Oh, you meant this?"
Dora confirmed. She had already opened a shopping app on her phone. "Yes, exactly! What else could
it be?"
Norah nodded in agreement, feeling relieved. Then she took out the lipstick from her bag and handed it
to Dora.Dora looked at the shade, satisfied, and took a photo. She said she would go pick one after
work.
Just then, Norah received a message from Shawn on her phone. "Is your lip feeling better? Should I
have Anthony bring some medicine for you?"
Norah sent a series of angry and annoyed emojis in response. How could he ask her that? It was all his
fault, after all.
Meanwhile, Shawn received her message and couldn't help but smile.
On the other hand, Anthony had inadvertently noticed and couldn't resist asking, "Mr. Lawson, all the
emojis Miss Chase sent seemed to be expressing anger. Why are you still so cheerful?"
"Didn't you say you've been in a relationship before?" Shawn coolly retorted.
Anthony couldn't refute it.
Seeing Anthony's silence, Shawn kindly explained, "You don't understand her. The fact that she's
willing to talk to me and send so many emojis means she's not that angry."
"If she were truly upset, she wouldn't talk to me at all," Shawn explained to Anthony when he noticed
him glancing at his phone.
Anthony scratched his head, realizing he didn't quite understand women like Norah. His previous
girlfriends hadn't been like this.
Alas, it was true that every woman was different.
Women's hearts were like needles in the ocean, truly hard to fathom!
"Is it still hurting?" Shawn texted again.
Norah didn't respond to him and instead took a deep breath before heading back to the patient's bed.
However, after about ten minutes, the nurse's station called her, saying that someone was looking for
her.
Norah wondered who would come to find her at this hour. As she approached the nurse's station, she
saw Anthony supporting Shawn standing there.
It had to be said that Shawn's appearance really stood out. So as soon as he arrived, it caused quite a
stir. Several doctors and nurses glanced at him discreetly and then blushed as they quietly passed by
him.
She kept a little distance away from him and immediately picked up her phone to dial Shawn's number.
"Norah..." Shawn answered the call.
"Don't stand at the nurse's station. Did you see me? Follow me a bit further," she said into the phone.
After hanging up, Norah continued to move forward. She stopped in a slightly secluded area. Very
soon, Shawn walked over.
"Why are you here?" Norah asked.
Shawn extended his hand, offering her some medicine. "I came to bring you this."
Norah's cheeks flushed hot red as she declined, "I'm feeling much better now. I don't need this."
If people were to find out that she had to apply ointment because her lips were swollen from being
kissed, she would wish she could find a hole to hide in. She felt incredibly embarrassed.
Seeing her blush, Shawn naturally understood her inner thoughts. He leaned in closer, his voice oozing
with a seductive, low tone, "Norah, actually, the medicine delivery was just a pretense. The real reason
was to see you."
