Chapter 8 Tear Of Sea
After getting home, Claire began selecting the outfit for the banquet.
Nathan had gone overboard and prepared countless luxury clothes for her.
Just as Claire selected the outfit, her phone rang.
"Claire! I'm so glad you finally figured it out."
Haylee Carter clapped her hands excitedly.
"I'm going to hold a party to celebrate your divorce with Darren. He is an ungrateful man.I know many excellent single men. They're all more handsome and considerate than him.Do you want me to introduce them to you? You can pick the right guy to date.If you like them all, you can be with all of them."
"Well, a party is fine. But I don't need men," Claire interrupted before her friend went too far.
"My family is holding a banquet tonight."
"We can go there after the banquet.Do you remember that young man from the Warren family? Their family is one of the most significant energy producers in the industry. And the young man from the Ramsey family has just come back from abroad..."
"Gosh, enough! Stop it!" Claire waved her hand to stop her.
"I have lost faith in love."
"Damon it! Darren, that scumbag! He has broken your heart and made you lose faith in love and men.I'm going to teach him a lesson. And what is that bitch's name? Forget it.It doesn't matter.I will just
call her ‘bitch’ from now on."
"Now that we are divorced, why should I care about them? I feel disgusted to even think about them."
"You are tolerant. You've easily let go of it, but I can't.I'm your best friend.I have to make them pay the price for hurting you.Gosh, scumbags like them deserve to die! Just wait and see!"

Before Claire could say anything, Haylee hung up the phone.
Claire shook her head and sighed helplessly.
Haylee hadn't changed one bit.She was as aggressive and resolute as before.
After Claire selected the outfit, a maid came in with a necklace.
"Miss, this is Tear of Sea.Your brother has given this to you."
Claire's eyes widened when she saw the shiny blue diamond in front of her.
It looked unique.
At that moment, her phone chimed with a message. It was from Nathan.
"It is a gift for my little princess, for finally divorcing that man.Only you're worthy of it."
Claire's face softened. She knew her brother implied that Darren didn't deserve her.
The maid elegantly put the necklace on her and smiled.
"How eye-catching!"
"What's eye-catching? Me or the diamond?"
"Oh, you, of course."
Claire smiled and looked at herself in the mirror.
"I don't look as good as before."
"Miss, you are always beautiful," the maid said as she helped Claire wear makeup.
Soon, Claire got ready and got into the car, and the driver took her to the banquet.
On the way, she received a message from Haylee.
"I heard Darren was invited to this banquet.Do you still like him?"
"Hell, no! It will never happen again.Besides, he won't come.Darren is like an unfeeling working machine. He despises social engagements."
"How dare he refuse the invitation from the Williams family?"
When Claire was about to reply, the car trundled to a stop.
"Miss, we have arrived at the destination," the driver reminded her.
"Let's talk when we meet."
Claire quickly sent the message and got out of the car.It was a private banquet and was free of media presence.
The security was tight.
Just then, a handsome man waved his hand at Claire. Her brows furrowed as she couldn't recall where she had met him before.
Claire was the princess of the Williams family, but she had never appeared in public before.
Therefore, the guests wouldn't know her.
Claire smiled politely and elegantly walked inside.
Once she went inside, the man turned around and dialed Darren's number.
This man was one of Darren's few friends, Stuart Myers -- a playboy from the Myers family.
"Darren, aren't you coming to the banquet of the Williams family?"
"You know I don't like such occasions."
"I saw your ex-wife here.Gosh, she looks more beautiful than how she looked in your wedding photos. You should sue your wedding photographer. Are you sure you don't want to come?"
Darren remained silent for a moment and then hung up.
"I know you won't let her go," Stuart complained.
He wanted to see the expression on Darren's face.
Meanwhile, Darren, who had just walked out of the CEO's office, turned around and ordered Wilton, "Cancel my schedules for tonight.I'm going to attend the Williams family's banquet."
"Yes, sir." Wilton shrugged.
His boss had been canceling all his important schedules lately. The sudden change in Darren's behavior confused Wilton.
