Chapter 91
"Grandpa..." Mandy Zimmer anxiously looked at Senior Zimmer.
Senior Zimmer smiled and said, "Mandy, I know that I've wronged you today. However, this contract that you've brought back does not bring any benefits at all to the Zimmer family. Of course, I will not forget your contribution to this. How about this? Once everything is in place and we've gotten our profits, I will give you a bit more than promised?"
Senior Zimmer kept mum about the CEO position.
He had tossed the matter out of the window without revisiting it anymore.
He had never thought highly of his granddaughters. He always thought that women were money- consuming goods sooner or later. It did not help that Mandy's husband was a worthless live-in son- in-law.
He used to have some respect for her solely because Mandy managed to secure the contract from York Enterprise. Since Zack Zimmer was now more capable than her, he naturally casted Mandy aside.
Mandy sat down in silence. She could not say another word. Senior Zimmer's words were final. If she continued to argue with him, it would only wreak more distaste toward her. However, Mandy felt restless in the recesses of her heart.
Harvey York stretched out his hand from the side and held onto her right hand. He smiled at her and shook his head, then said in a lowered voice. "Don't you worry. Do you really think Zack would be able to get the contract with that kind of attitude?"
Although Harvey's voice was not loud, many around them heard him speak. Everyone turned to look at them.
"Hey Zack was about to burst with rage but he suddenly calmed down. He glared at Harvey and said, loser, do you dare to make a bet with me? If I'm able to get this contract, you and your wife will be disowned from the Zimmer family. Both of you will never be allowed to step into this house ever again." "Harvey!" Mandy tried to stop him from the side.
"The bet's on!" Harvey did not bother to spare a glance at Zack. "However, what will you do if your negotiation is not successful? Are you going to leave the Zimmer family? I'm afraid that by that time, no one would even want you as a live-in son- in-law!"
"Y-You!" Zack pointed straight at Harvey. "You just wait and see. After tonight, you will not be able to take even one step through the doors of the Zimmer family's house! Hmph!"
"That's enough. Stop arguing." Senior Zimmer still had some composure. "Let's all go down and prepare ourselves for tonight. We need to entertain our VIPs well. Everyone is to accompany them. Do you understand?"
"Yes sir!" The crowd of the Zimmer family nodded in unison. Rumor has it that the main guest for tonight, Manager Wendy Sorrell, was not only young and enchanting, she was also quite influential in York Enterprise. If they could win her over and go along with whatever she says, they were sure to stand a chance to secure the contract.
They each held their motives in their hearts and the Zimmer family respectively left the scene.

Outside the villa, Harvey trailed Mandy from behind. This sight made him look like a loser no matter how anyone looked at it.
Further off, Sean and Zack, the father and son pair, were standing next to each other.
Sean Zimmer stared at Harvey's back, his voice riffed with hatred. "Zack, you did well. After tonight, I want to chase this live-in son-in-law out of our Zimmer family once and for all!"
"That wouldn't be enough!" Zack responded with a frosty tone. "Don Xander wanted to get rid of him the last time, but he managed to escape due to his good luck. He will not be as fortunate this time. In the next few days, he will be a homeless tramp roaming the streets and be struck by people until his limbs are broken. I'm sure there's no way someone would come and save him."Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
"Good point!"
"Don't you worry, Dad. Whoever dares to humiliate us both, I will make sure that he will get his punishment a hundredfold. From this day onward, let's see who from the Zimmer family will dare to defy our objectives. Once the old fart reaches his hundreds, whatever the Zimmer family owns will become mine for sure!" Zack's expression was cold. He had waited for this day for a long time.
Sean's face was plastered with satisfaction and admiration. His son may be arrogant and domineering, but he was reliable during crucial times like these. It was a blessing to have a son like Zack!
Just before seven at night, colorful lights were splashed across the villa of the Zimmer family. They decorated the villa as extravagant as they could. They had even invited a few of the head chefs from five-star hotels. The hall of the villa was adorned akin to the lobby of a hotel. All sorts of delectable food were prepared. All the members of the Zimmer family were clad in their best glittering clothes and were gathered at the main entrance.
Zack and Senior Zimmer were in their suits, smiling while taking center stage. They portrayed the image that they were the ones who made all the major decisions for the Zimmer family.
In the corner of the crowd, Mandy was feeling dejected. She did not expect that Zack would finally reap the rewards instead. Her hard work was all in vain.
Harvey wore something he bought from the street stalls; his appearance seemed out of place. He looked forward to tonight's meeting.
Wendy would not dare to privately negotiate with the Zimmer family without his instructions, let alone simply raising the conditions. Hence, he was very curious as to the reason why she was coming today.
