Chapter 884 Brian's Help is Rejected
Chapter 884 Brian's Help is Rejected
Calvin gave a response without thinking much about it.
"Yeah, I'm coming over to take care of some company business."
"Go ahead, I have something to do too, see you some other time."
Hurrying to say goodbye to Calvin, she then took Vanessa away.
Calvin walked into the bank before he felt something was wrong. She could get cash in the next ATM,
how come she came in there? There were many people there, so ATM would be more convenient.
Director Chambers seemed to be tense and her eyes kept wandering. She had never been this
flustered.
With doubts, Calvin found the manager and asked about Winnie first.
"What business did the two ladies come for?"
Calvin pointed at Winnie and Vanessa, who had not yet gotten into the car, and asked the manager.
"I'll go and ask."
The manager looked at Winnie then enthusiastically went to find the manager who received them. In a
minute's time the manager who was responsible for receiving Winnie was brought in front of Calvin.
"Mr. Calvin, those two ladies were just received by me."
The business manager said politely. Calvin was the biggest customer of their bank, and there was no
one in the bank who didn't know him.
"What business do they come here for?"
Calvin became even less convinced that they just came for cash for it was manager received them.
"They came over to get a mortgage on the property, but the titleholder was the little girl, under 22 years
old, not working and not able to pay back the loan, so we couldn't service the loan."
The business manager explained in detail, not knowing that Calvin knew them, if she knew she would
have provided better service.
"Did they say what the loan was going to be for?"
Calvin continued.
"No, they just said they wanted a mortgage on the property, they didn't say the purpose."
This was a question that business managers had no right to ask, they were only responsible for the
rules and information.
"It's okay, you can go back to your work."
Calvin did not continue to ask, but the one thing about the mortgage made him uncertain.
Calvin had been thinking about the matter of Winnie's mortgage, and after coming out of the bank, he
immediately called Brian and reported what he just learned.
Brian was at the hospital, and at this time Paul had returned from his outing. After receiving a phone
call from Calvin then Brian left the hospital and went home.
When he returned home, Winnie and Vanessa were both there, and Brian didn't say anything.
He waited until Vanessa went back to her room to study, and Brian followed Winnie to her room.
"Anything wrong?"
Looking at Brian's serious face from the time he came back until now, Winnie knew that something was
up with him. He had come to her room, so that meant that this matter had something to do with her.
"Calvin said he saw you at the bank, what kind of business did you go to the bank for?"
Brian asked Winnie as he sat on the edge of the bed, standing right next to Winnie.
At this point, he admitted that he was somewhat unsatisfactory, and because he was angry that Winnie
would rather be alone than seek his help when she encountered difficulties.
"Go get the money."
Winnie replied simply, but from among Brian's emotions, she probably guessed that Brian knew that Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
she had gone for a mortgage.
"Get the money? If you have the money, why do you need a mortgage on the property?"
Brian questioned, and he was even more angry at Winnie's concealment.
"What's the point of asking me if you know all about it?"
"Yes, I went to the bank to ask for a mortgage."
Winnie could only tell the truth.
"Why didn't you tell me if you were short of money, why did you go to the bank for a loan?"
Brian wanted to know why why she was short of money, wanted to know what difficult things she had
encountered, and more importantly, wanted to know why Winnie didn't ask him for money.
"No reason, I don't want to bother anyone. I try to do what I can do myself, and I'm afraid I won't be
able to return the favor by causing trouble to others."
Brian was the last person she wanted to bother. She would rather go to Daenerys, to Emily, to Stefan
or even Finn, but only she couldn't go to Brian.
The most sensitive part of the relationship between her and Brian was money, and Winnie didn't want
to touch the sensitive bottom line.
"Winwin, when something like this comes up, can you talk to me first? I can give you the most direct
help."
"I know you don't want my money, it's okay I lend it to you. If you feel you owe a favor, then it's okay to
pay me interest. It's better than being anxious and apprehensive about not getting the money."
Brian knew the reason why Winnie didn't come to him, and knew that the most taboo thing she had
was the money issue between them.
But when she was short of money, when she was in trouble, she should have come to him to solve it.
"It's okay, I can fix myself. The bank said they can provide the loan as long as the property is
transferred into my name. Monday ......"
"It hasn't been long since you transferred to Vanessa's name, and you can't be transferring in less than
two years. How are you going to fix that?"
Brian interrupted Winnie, what he wanted to say was the problem reflected through this incident, and
Winnie was avoiding this problem.
"Winwin, is my help that terrible to you? You haven't asked me for help with a single thing since we
met, and there's no excuse for me to help you as a friend."
Brian felt helpless at Winnie's not asking for help in everything, now she not only didn't accept his help,
she didn't even bother with other people. Otherwise, she wouldn't have gone to the bank to take out a
mortgage.
"Your help isn't terrible, it's ...... I've asked you for help, but you've given it all away. You haven't lost
your memory for ages, and just when I needed you, you gave it away. I feel like you didn't want to help,
and came up with an excuse to forget."
"So there would be no reason to ask for your help a second time."
Winnie made an excuse for herself not wanting his help.
She had asked Brian to help her look into things some time ago, and Brian had forgotten about it. Since
then she had never asked for Brian's help.
She did not ask him for fear of causing him trouble, for fear that she would be misunderstood. For each
other's sake, she’d better not ask him for help.
"Winnie, I really forgot, not that I didn't want to help you. I blame myself for why I forgot about it at that
time, I really didn't mean to."
"Talk to me again, and I'll help."
Brian was chagrined, he did forget what the person he loved the most had entrusted to him at the most
undeserved time. It wasn't surprising that Winnie felt upset.
If he remembered correctly, that was the first time Winnie had asked for his help, but he had neglected
it.
Winnie laughed in a way that even she didn't know why. Maybe it was sarcasm that Brian was giving
him a chance, or maybe it was helplessness at the situation she was in now.
She needed the money now, and the money in her hand was to be set aside for the franchise. The
money to buy the house was actually not there at all. If there wasn't that sensitive relationship between
her and Brian, maybe she would really ask for it with Brian. After all, he was a plutocrat, this amount of
money for the house was a drop in the bucket for him.
Yet she and he had been wrong from the start of their acquaintance, and such a mistake had caused
everything to turn sour.
"No, I asked Finn to look into that one for me. I asked Finn for help with the money too, he'll get it for
me."
"But thanks for the kind words."
To be honest she didn't want to say thanks to Brian, all she wanted was for Brian to help her, to stand
in front of her and block all the storms for her.
But it was her man who could stand in front of her and protect her, and Brian was not.
"Since you can ask Finn for help, so why can't I help you? Winwin, I did something wrong in the past,
but it hurts me that you made such a decision."
Brian's heart was breaking, not because of Finn, but because Winnie refused all his help.
He didn't know anything about Winnie, and if Calvin hadn't happened to meet her today, he would still
be in a state of ignorance. Now, she still rejected him.
"There's no reason, don't think too much about it. You don't have to take my business to heart, just get
on with your life."
Winnie had nothing to say, unable to find a better excuse to answer this question from Brian.
She had put her heart into Brian before, pouring all her feelings into him, but she never seemed to
come close to his heart, and he never cared about her at all.
Now that he wanted to care, wanted to help her, Winnie was afraid to get close again.
"Winwin ......"
"By the way, didn't you want me to buy something for you? I thought about it, and I can't afford anything
that suits you. So I thought I'd knit you a bracelet."
Brian still wanted to find a solution in this matter, but Winnie directly interrupted and changed the topic.
Some things were as appropriate to stop as life and love was the most clear and wise decision.
"Winwin."
"I only bought two colors of braided rope today, and I haven't braided it yet. Help me and I'll make it for
now."
Winnie still did not give Brian a chance, she knew that it was appropriate to stop, and Brian had to
know how to cooperate. Although she did not talk to Finn that she was short in money, but she would
not ask Brian for help.
Winnie took out the materials she had prepared from the drawer and walked over to the sofa and sat
down, and began to fiddle with them.
"What are you looking at? Come and help. I can't make it alone."
Winnie asked Brian to come over
Looking at his gloomy face, Winnie knew that he was still obsessing about the money, and even if he
stood there all night, it wouldn't change her mind at this moment.
Brian sat down next to Winnie, but reluctant. Even though he was looking forward to what she would
knit for him, it didn't bother him as much as the fact that Winnie needed money.
"Help me pull it."
A black and a red rope prepared in Winnie's hand was handed to Brian, ordering him to cooperate with
her.
Brian had no choice but to cooperate to help.
"What's this? How come it has two colors?"
Brian asked Winnie.
"A bracelet, the least valuable one. I don't afford too expensive thing."
