Chapter 129
Chapter 129
129- Love the darkness
SOMEWHERE
A man in his late forties was sitting inside his bedroom with all the lights completely off. There wasn't any light in the room. It was pitch dark inside the room, i
His life was filled with darkness which is why he didn't find it necessary to fill the room with light anyway. His heart and mind was filled with darkness as well and he was ready to fill everyone's life with the same darkness as well if it wasn't for his... Mate.
"Dante?"
Immediately after he thought of his mate, he heard the sweet voice of his mate. He opened his eyes to meet with a bright light which was coming from the balcony door.
Her mate opened the door as soon as she came inside the room and filled his room with light just like she had been doing the same with his life. She was the light of his life, if it wasn't for her, he would have destroyed everything. He would have killed everyone in madness. She kept him calm and collected.
She was his life but still his life wasn't complete. Because his smile was taken away from him years ago. It’s been years he hasn't smiled. His mate and people around him almost forgot how looked when he used to smile.
"Dante? How many times do I have to tell you? Don't stay in the darkness." Her mate scolded him with a small frown on her face.
He looked up to see her beautiful face which looked as beautiful as the time when he first saw her. When she was only eighteen and now she was nearly forty five years old but looked flawlessly young.
Her beautiful blonde hair and deep sea blue eyes were his favourite. But they looked pale as well because of the light which they lost.
"I started to love the darkness, Lucy. It's the only thing which keeps me close to my sunshine." His agony filled tone broke her heart as she could understand what he meant. She walked toward him and sat on the bed beside him and kept her hand over his chest to calm him down a little.
"But she used to hate darkness, Dante." Lucy said, her tone was heavy as well.
"I am sure she started to love it as well, Lucy. Because that's what her life is currently. Filled with darkness. Didn't you hear what our spy said? They kept her in a cell! In a freaking cell, Lucy. There's nothing but darkness in a cell. She started to love it as well." Dante said as his wolf was growling inside his chest. They both were getting angry again as they remembered about it again, i
"Calm down, Dante. Only one day left. Our life will be filled with sunshine again and we will fill her life with the same as well. We have to be strong and happy for her. We will do everything to help her start her life with a fresh start. She will forget all her experience from that dark basement. We will love her that much. " Lucy said while rubbing his back up and down as if she was trying to calm herself down as well.
"You are right. Just one more day. After that I will not let any harm come to her anymore. I am not going to listen to anyone tomorrow and will get her back to me no matter what. I am never going to let anyone take her away from me until my last breath." Dante said with fire in his eyes.
He looked as if he was going to burn everything tomorrow to get what he wanted and Lucy knew he wasn't going to hesitate if it's needed. He would actually burn everything.
"Are you going to call for a war?" Lucy asked with fear filled eyes as she looked at his face in disbelief.
If he calls for a war, it's going to turn out to be disastrous. But she knew that she didn't hold that much power to stop him if that's what he was going to do.
"I already called for a war, Lucy." Dante answered with gritted teeth while looking ahead at a blank space.
"What?! You didn't give any warning or send a letter for the war, Dante. How is that a war?" Lucy shouted in disbelief and panic, afraid of what her mate was planning.
"I am going to go there without any warning." Dante said in a blank tone.
"It's not a war then, Dante. It's an attack, a low and cheap move which only cowards attempt." Lucy shouted at him.
"That's what he deserves for keeping the daughter of the South Alpha leader in a cell!" Dante shouted back before walking out from the room, leaving a distressed Lucy behind.
Lucy wept in silence while clutching her hands to her heart. She knew it was hard for her mate. But it was hard for her as well. She lost her only child years ago as well and couldn't give her mate any more heir. It was very hurtful for her. She felt worthless silently, not letting anyone see that. She cried everyday but no one saw that because she had to handle the pack when the pack's alpha was falling apart. She had to be strong because she had to support the pack and her mate.
But who was going to support her and handle her? Who's going to wipe away her tears? How she wished she had a daughter with whom she could be as close as best friends. But her dream was left as a dream only and she was left with many burdens. Burden of being a worthless and useless mate to her mate...
But if something happens this time because of her mate's decision, she doesn't know who she is going to handle everything. She just hoped nothing bad would
happen. Moon goddess was her only hope at that moment.
"Alpha Dominic, one more day. Get ready to pay for the great sin which you committed." Dante walked away with a promise to himself as he saw his mate crying silently like all these years. Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
