Chapter 123
Chapter 123
Miles entered the hospital room where Alexia was located, his heart was heavy with worry for Alexia. His eyes reflexively darted to where she lay, unconscious in the bed, connected to beeping machines that were used to stabilize her health. The smell of the wolfsbane poison hung was still heavy in the air, a constant reminder of the danger she was facing.
Miles approached her bedside, his voice barely above a whisper as he spoke to her unconscious being.
“Alexia… I’m here. We’re all here for you,” he said, his voice filled with concern and guilt. He gently brushed a strand of hair away from her face, his touch soft and full of love.
“I should’ve been there to protect you,” he continued, his voice trembling. “But I promise, we won’t let anything happen to
I and Michael are here for you and I promise you we’ll hint down who did this. I promise you that.
Taking her hand in his, Miles held on tight, his grip both firm and comforting.
You’re strong, Alexia. I’ve seen you overcome so much, and I know you can overcome this too,” he said sincerely.
A pang of sadness washed over Miles as he remembered the happier moments they had shared.
“I miss your smile, your laughter,” he whispered. “I miss seeing your eyes light up during the full moon. We need you back. Alexia. The pack needs you.”
Miles bowed his head, a mixture of emotions flooding through him. He took a deep breath, steeling himself.
“I won’t let this poison take you away from us,” he declared firmly. “We’ll find a way to heal you, to bring you You’re not alone in this, Alexia. I’m right here with you, every step of the way.”
back to us.
Leaning in closer, Miles whispered with determination.
“Stay strong, my love. Fight this. I’ll be waiting for you when you wake up. I’m certain you will. I won’t let whosoever take you from us.”
He gently pressed a kiss on Alexia’s forehead before stepping back, his gaze never leaving her face.
“I love you, Alexia. Always,” he said softly.
Miles lingered for a moment, his eyes stationed on Alexia. He wished deep down that his words were magical enough to wake her from the deep slumber that she fell into, but that wasn’t the case. With that, he took one more look at her and exited the room with heaviness in his heart.
Miles hurriedly exited the hospital room, his heart burdened by the sight of Alexia’s condition. He sighed tiredly and leaned. against his car parked outside the hospital.
it the pack
His sixth sense pulled open the door of the car and slid inside. In the twinkle of an eye, he was already home, at house. His breathing was still heavy, filled with infuriation when he reached the pack house.
With irritation, he pulled open the door and made his way into the manor.
Michael was seated in the living room, his heart heavy with fear. The weight of the situation pressed upon his shoulders, making him feel helpless. He had always been the protective one, the strong presence for his pack, but now, with Alexia’s life hanging in the balance, he felt utterly powerless.
Images of Alexia shuffled through his mind–her radiant smile, her infectious laughter, and the fierce determination that defined her as a fellow werewolf. She had become an integral part of their pack, and the mere thought of losing her sent
shivers down Michael’s spine.
His thoughts swirled in a torrent of what–ifs and worst–case scenarios, plunging him deeper into a state of despair. The sight of her lying unconscious in that sterile hospital room haunted him, intensifying his sense of dread. The uncertainty gnawed at his soul, fueling the fear that they might lose her.
Miles took a seat beside Michael, a silent gesture of support and understanding
Trying to steady his breathing. Miles found Michael and expressed his distress.
“I just saw Alexia… It pained me deeply to witness her in such a state,” Miles confessed, his voice weighed down with hearfelt emotion.
Michael turned towards him, his face reciprocating the concern and hurt that Miles had felt.
“What happened, Miles? Has her condition gotten worse?” Michael asked, his fists clenching in a mix of worry and anger. He wished and hoped deep down that this thought was false.”
Shaking his head. Miles replied with a hint of resentment, “I’m uncertain, but I suspect Kayla’s involvement. Remember, she’s always been a pain in the butt to Alexia sister. Although it’s difficult to fathom, the evidence seems to point in her direction. That’s all I can think of
A surge of fury coursed through Michael as he contemplated the implications.
“If Kayla is indeed responsible, we cannot allow her actions to go unpunished. The harm she has inflicted upon our pack, especially Alexia, warrants severe consequences,” Michael asserted, his voice filled with determination.
Nodding in agreement, Miles emphasized, “Precisely, Michael. Merely imprisoning her is insufficient. It doesn’t cut it. She has to suffer the consequences of her actions. She must faced the time as equally as she played it. I don’t think merely throwing her in the dungeon cuts it. She must face the gravity of her deeds, the repercussions of the pain she has caused Alexia. What if she doesn’t make it?” He uttered the last statement with his voice tinged with worry.
A resolute exchange of glances solidified their shared determination,
“We shall punish her, Miles. We will ensure she faces justice and pays the price for her transgressions, Michael vowed, his fists tightening with resolve.
Miles concurred with unwavering conviction. “I shall not rest until we achieve this. Our pack deserves retribution, and Alexia, most of all, deserves justice. No one can harm our own without facing the consequences. I shall not rest until she equally feels the pain that she has caused us and also feels exactly what Alexia is going through right now,”
Michael placed a comforting hand on Miles‘ shoulder, a display of unwavering support. Miles gave his brother a warm smile in courtesy before he sped down the stairs. Over to the dungeon. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
With anger fueling his steps, Miles descended into the depths of the dungeon, his heart filled with anger. He itched greatly to hold Kayla by the neck and squeeze the life out of her but he wouldn’t take laws into his hands, just yet.
Miles locked eyes with Kayla, who sat on a small cot, her expression marked by defiance and resentment. She looked malnourished and starved. Well, she deserved it. After all she had put Alexia through, Including almost killing her. Malnourishment was nothing compared to all she had put Alexia through so she dared not complain.
Kayla raised her head weakly to meet his, her eyes locking with his. Her eyes looked soggy and tired; she had been crying. *Well, served her right. At the moment she heard footsteps, she hurried from the corner she found solitude in and rushed to
the metal bars, gripping it forcefully. Tears built up in her eyes.
Miles stepped forward “Kayla, I need you to confess,” Miles demanded, his voice laden with accusation. “Did you poison
Alexia with wolfsbane out of jealousy?” Miles asked fuming dangerously with anger. You could almost see the rage in his facial expression.
