Chapter 128
Dominick narrowed his eyes slightly. His handsome face remained expressionless, but the smile disappeared, replaced by a serious and earnest look.
“Because I like you.”
Dominick’s words exploded like a bomb in Lola’s head!
They had only met a few times, and though Dominick had indeed left a unique impression on her and saved her many times, it seemed impossible to fall for her after just a few meetings.
“Mr. Sinclair, stop kidding. We’ve only met a few times. You don’t have to joke like this.” Lola avoided Dominick’s
gaze.
His eyes were too deep, and she feared that she might fall into them if she wasn’t careful.
“I’m telling the truth.”
It seemed like Dominick didn’t want to end it there. He stood up and approached Lola slowly.
“I like you a lot. Can’t you tell?”
His voice was deep, alluring, and dangerous. Standing nearly six feet three inches tall, he had an imposing presence.
Lola instinctively took a step back. “Mr. Sinclair, please don’t.
“I have a fiancé, and I don’t like you. This is serious.”
Lola couldn’t quite describe how she felt, but it was clear that her heartbeat was getting more erratic and her mind was becoming chaotic.
Dominick’s face darkened at the mention of her fiancé.
He wasn’t in a rush, but hearing Lola mention Scott, he somehow felt displeased.
“What’s so special about a fiancé? You’re not married yet, right? As long as you’re not married, anything is possible.”
Dominick stepped closer to Lola, who was in a panic and could only step back.
“I… What are you doing?
“Mr. Sinclair, don’t do anything reckless! I’m Ethan’s sister. He is your friend, right?” Lola didn’t dare to look up,
cornered by Dominick against the wall.
She had nowhere to go now.
Dominick suddenly leaned in, exuding a sense of oppression.
He smirked faintly and whispered softly in Lola’s ear, “And what about you? Do you really feel nothing for me?
“Every time I saved you, every time I was by your side, did you feel nothing at all?”
Dominick was a terrifying man.
His fearfulness lay in the fact that everything he said and did resembled a villain, but damn, he was charming.
This man was incredibly handsome. When he spoke like this, it could make anyone’s heart skip a beat.
Lola was no exception, but soon, she quickly regained her composure.
“No. I’m very grateful that you saved me, but I am very clear that1 am engaged, and I hope you remember that. So, please think twice when you want to do something in the future!”
Lola was somewhat annoyed. Dominick now seemed like a complete rogue!
But the turmoil in her heart made Lola feel very insecure and even more guilty.
She and Scott had been engaged since childhood. She couldn’t betray him.
“Mr. Sinclair, given your behavior, I think it’s best if we don’t work together.”
Dominick had crossed a line with Lola. She couldn’t accept such a partnership.
This cooperation felt like an affair, making her feel guilty toward Scott.
This was only the first day. What about the future?
Lola didn’t dare to imagine.
If Dominick acted this way every time he saw her, she couldn’t guarantee how things would turn out.
If the price of saving the company meant betraying Scott, she’d rather let the company go and find another way later.
“Canceling the contract right after signing it? You’re the first,” Dominick said with a hint of mockery as he walked
away.
Lola glared at him. “That’s none of my concern. I’ve made up my mind. I’m canceling the cooperation. This kind of
contract is disgraceful.
“I’ve changed my mind. My assistant will send you the penalty fee.”
Lola’s family was rich enough that the penalty fee wasn’t an issue.
Still, she couldn’t just give up the company. She would think of other solutions, but this partnership with Dominick
had scared her.
Dominick’s actions seemed to be a prelude to a humiliating and shameful future for her when she met her in the
future.
He raised an eyebrow, softening his expression. “So you’re in such a hurry. Are you eager to marry me?”
Lola was taken aback. “Of course not! Mr. Sinclair, please watch your words!”
Her serious demeanor made Dominick find her somewhat adorable.
“Is that so? But what can I do? My breach of contract compensation isn’t money. It’s you.”
Lola was stunned.
She hastily flipped through the contract, and sure enough, on the last line of the last page, she saw the breach of contract compensation.
Dominick’s breach of contract compensation was that if she broke the contract, she had to marry him!
He used such a trick!
This time, Lola truly realized just how ruthless Dominick could be!
“Dominick, this isn’t fair! You’re lying to me!”
Dominick was slightly taken aback, but instead of getting angry, he seemed a bit delighted.
Lola had called his name.
Since losing her memory, this was the first time Lola had called his name. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
“Keep calling me that from now on.”
Lola was stunned.
Her brows furrowed slightly. ‘Is there something wrong with Dominick?‘
“This contract isn’t fair. It can’t be valid!”

Lola felt tricked and a bit wronged inside.

This was her first time handling something on her own, and she hadn’t expected to be completely outmaneuvered.
At home, her parents and Ethan had always treated her like a princess. She had never faced a situation like this.
Dominick’s expression changed when he saw Lola’s eyes redden, and he couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt.
“Alright, I’m not joking with you anymore.
“I’m also trying to teach you a lesson here. When you’re negotiating deals in the future, you must read the contracts carefully. Don’t let emotions get the better of you, and don’t just trust Ethan without checking the
terms.”
Dominick spoke patiently. “No matter what it is, you must understand it thoroughly before making a decision.
“You’re such a naive girl. I’m really worried about you in the business world. Many people will take advantage of someone as innocent as you.”
Dominick sounded like a caring elder, patiently explaining things to Lola.
His earnest demeanor left Lola momentarily dazed.
But she quickly realized she shouldn’t be reacting this way and hardened her face.
“I don’t know about others, but all I see is your manipulation and despicable.”
