Chapter 725 Side Story: Efforts in Pursuing Her 7
Yelena simply let out a scoff without responding to him. When Federick saw the look on her face, he
figured that she probably wasn't all that hurt. He felt some relief upon realizing that. "What made you
come on this date, anyway? Is it because you've lost feelings for him?" Federick noticed how he still
held some hope for her after he uttered his thoughts.
However, the woman twisted her face into a frown. It didn't seem like she was the one who wanted this
date. "Do you seriously think I'm here to meet someone? I wouldn't have shown up if my parents hadn't
insisted I come. This is just a meal, anyway; we're not actually getting married," Yelena replied.
A hint of disappointment flashed across Federick's expression. "That's fine. This doesn't mean anything
to me either. If we're done here, I think the both of us can head off first."
Yelena responded with a tiny nod. "Why don't we sneak out now? I think our dads are coming back
soon."
"What's the rush? Do you really hate spending time with me that much?" Federick sneered. "Does it
seem that way? Didn't you say that this means nothing to you? I just don't want you to waste your time
here," Yelena replied as she got to her feet. When the man didn't budge, she tugged on his arm. "Come
on. I don't think this dating spot is a nice place for us to catch up. Why don't we go somewhere else?"
she suggested.
Federick finally stood up rather unwillingly after hearing what the woman said. He drove his car over, so
Yelena made her way over to his vehicle before inviting herself into the ride. "Where are we going?"
Federick put his seatbelt on before he raised an eyebrow and questioned the woman.
Yelena looked up at the skies for a while. We wasted some time traveling over, and we wasted more
time staying in that restaurant, but I think I know a place that would be perfect for us now. She curled
her lips into a somewhat mysterious smile. "I know a place." About an hour later, their car pulled up in
front of Luna Bar. There was a hint of confusion on Federick's face as he got out of the car. "Since
when did you start drinking?"
Previously, when Yelena was studying overseas, she wasn't the most obedient girl, but she also wasn't
the type to visit bars all the time. Federick felt like he no longer knew the woman when he saw how
familiar she seemed with the route that led them to the bar. He couldn't stop himself from lecturing her
a little. "You're a young lady. Do you know how dangerous these bars are? What are you going to do if
you bump into some nasty guys? Furthermore, you're always dressed in such a flashy manner! I'm
worried that you might attract some bad attention. On top of that, you're also an actress! Aren't you
afraid that others might see you at a place like this?"
Yelena rubbed her ears. "Alright, alright. Stop nagging. I'm a grown woman, so why can't I come to a
bar? I'm not here to do anything nasty, anyway."

on her face. "I'm nagging you for your own good, so you should really listen to me."
"For my own good, huh?" Yelena rolled her eyes. "Elspeth is the one who owns this bar, so I'm not
worried about my safety at all. If anyone harms me here, Elspeth can probably take down their entire
family," she explained. Federick seemed a little more reassured after hearing that the bar belonged to
her best friend.
"Well, come on. I told you that I wanted to take you out for drinks." Yelena tugged on the man's sleeve
and dragged him into the bar. "I know a few bestsellers here. I'll pick them out for you," she offered.
"I don't even know if you brought me here to catch up, or if you just wanted a drinking buddy." Federick
couldn't stop himself from nagging her a little more. Even though he was full of complaints, he still
allowed her to lead him into the bar. To his surprise, the bar wasn't as rundown as he had expected it to
be. If anything, it seemed well-kept. It wasn't a wine bar, yet it seemed to have the class and
cleanliness of one. Federick couldn't help but feel impressed by Elspeth's abilities.
Yelena led Federick to her usual spot. That particular spot had a perfect view, especially when there
were performers at the bar. She often enjoyed sitting in that spot while watching performances on the
stage. Unfortunately, it had been a while since she last visited this bar. She used to drop by with Hank,
but things had changed, and the person who used to accompany her was no longer around.
Yelena tried her best to conceal her sorrows, but Federick still noticed the look on her face. "What is it?
Aren't you happy to catch up with me?"
"That's not it. I was just reminded of some stuff." Yelena picked up her glass of alcohol and took a huge
gulp. The taste of alcohol in her mouth was a little too strong, so she ended up choking and coughing.
"This drink burns! Why is it so strong?"
Federick knew the answer to her question, but he didn't feel like embarrassing her then, so he simply
patted her back gently. "You should slow down. You know what your alcohol tolerance is like," he
uttered.
Yelena was immediately triggered by his words. "What's with my alcohol tolerance? The drink is simply
a little too strong."
"Well, I'm not going to be petty this time." Federick picked up the drink that Yelena had ordered for him.
She claimed that it was the best drink that the bar offered. Then, he took a sip out of his glass. It's
sweet and refreshing, but there's a little too much alcohol in here. I can sip on it, but this isn't the sort of
drink that I can chug. Federick had never been one to enjoy alcohol. He was more of a tea person—the
bitterness of tea often made him feel more alert and contemplative.
When Yelena saw the small sip that the man took, she shot him a disdainful look. "I brought you all the
way here for drinks, yet you're only taking a small sip. Don't you know how to show me some respect?"
"I don't like alcohol. You know that about me," he replied. Yelena was quiet for a while after that. There
was a reason Federick didn't like alcohol, and she was part of the reason. About six years ago, when
Yelena was still staying overseas with him, she attended a dinner party one night. The plan had been
for Federick to pick her up after she was done. Federick had attended another party on his own and
had a few drinks himself.
After picking Yelena up, they drove through a windy road in the mountains, and their car ended up
hitting one of the dividers along the side of the road. Even though the accident itself wasn't too serious,
both of them were rather traumatized after that whole incident. Yelena had sustained several injuries on
her arm, and she had wailed over the cuts and bruises on her skin. Federick was the one responsible
for the accident, and he felt especially anxious after seeing how hard Yelena had cried over it.
Whenever he thought of how they could've lost their lives because of his carelessness, he felt a deep
sense of fear. Back then, he had pulled Yelena close against his chest. "I'll never let this happen again,
alright? I'll never drink again," he had uttered in a shaky voice. Federick never took a sip of alcohol
after that incident.
