Alicia thought it was Grace coming in to call her for dinner, she said hoarsely.
"I really don't want to eat anything. You can have dinner by yourself."
The person who came in didn't stop, instead, he walked over to the bed and sat down, leaning over.
The smell of tobacco laced with men's perfume wafted in.
Alicia immediately opened her eyes, and before she could get a look at the man's face, she was already being kissed.
She looked startled and reached up to push the man.
To her surprise, Edmond grabbed her wrists and clutched them tightly above her head, leaning down to bite her earlobe again.
"In that case, I'll start."
The low voice fell on her ear, and she ducked back as goosebumps rose all over her body.
"What are you doing here?"
Edmond didn't let her go. He stared into her eyes and said helplessly.
"Why did you block me? Because I didn't answer your phone?"
"I don't like you."
"You're very strange today."
"It's not like it's the first day you've known me, I've always behaved like this."
Alicia said and tried to break away from Edmond and leave. However, she failed and was completely unable to exert her strength in front of the robust man.
Seeing this, Edmond smiled, deliberately breaking her fists and clasping his fingers with hers.
She could feel the warmth from his hand and suddenly she felt like crying.
At this moment.
A low voice floated gently, accompanied by a smile.
"I see. You're angry I didn't make out with you in the lift today."
Alicia rolled her eyes in exasperation at his logic.
"Don't touch me. You are disgusting. There are plenty of women out there lining up, wanting to carry your child, I am not special."
Edmond's face eased a little when she was finally willing to talk to him.
He'd rather be scolded by her than getting a silent treatment.
"So what did Diane tell you?"
He took it step by step, letting Alicia tell him the cause of her emotions and anger.
Alicia didn't think about how Edmond found out about it, subconsciously assuming that Diane told him.
"She came to tell me about her being pregnant with your child."
Edmond froze, and his face darkened. Then he asked her back.
"You believe in her words?"
Seeing that he didn't seem to feel guilty at all, Alicia was even angrier.
"What else do I have to suspect? It's not like you haven't touched her."
The man's brow furrowed, and a snort hummed from the tip of his nose as he continued to ask Alicia in a provocative tone.
"Who told you I touched her?"
"I have seen the photos of you together, what? Are you going to tell me that those were just art?"
"Show me the photos."
Alicia gritted her teeth and cursed him in stubborn fury.
"You are a player. Why don't you admit that you've touched her? I despise you even more." Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Edmond frowned and thought of how to explain it to her.
Alicia continued before he could speak.
"Let's go to the Civil Affairs Bureau tomorrow to get divorced. I'll explain to our parents. Diane's baby can't be without a father. You should treat her well in the future."
Earlier, she said that she could treat his bastard like her own.
But now she blessed him with another woman in jealousy.
"It is a virtue to fulfil others."
Bullshit!
If it wasn't against the law to kill someone, she'd be itching to kill Edmond and Diane.
"I didn't touch her."
Suddenly, Edmond's heavy, serious voice dropped.
Alicia was stunned and frowned.
Edmond was serious, and he clasped his fingers with hers even more tightly.
There was an indescribable emotion spreading in the air as if it was going to drown her in it.
Alicia wanted to retort.
But for some reason, when she looked into those eyes, she couldn't say anything.
After a while, she only heard Edmond speak again, explaining to her.
"The baby can't be mine, I never touched Diane."
