Chapter 44 - Want To Move In?
Chapter 44 - Want To Move In?
Wang Shen Ze removed his jacket as he walked towards Lin Wen Xin. He then placed it over her body to keep her warm.
His heart seemed to have calmed down completely after seeing that she is safe and sound.
Not to mention sleep, he did not even dare to close his eyes and rest for a second throughout the entire night.
He had only heard about Lin Wen Xin’s whereabouts from Yi Fan this morning and had rushed to the hospital immediately.
“No... no...” Lin Wen Xin started sobbing with her eyes still closed.
Wang Shen Ze thought that she had woken up but it seems like she was just having a bad dream.
He sat down on the floor beside the sofa, and consoled her, with one of his hand gently rubbing on her upper arm. “It’s okay... It’s okay, I’m here.”
...
About an hour later, as Lin Wen Xin slowly opened her eyes, she felt that there was something heavy pressing against her body.
She tilted her head down and saw that Wang Shen Ze is sound asleep, with his head comfortably placed on her tummy.
Oh?? When did he arrive?
Lin Wen Xin let out a soft chuckle as her fingers gently ran through his short hair.
“You’re awake?” Wang Shen Ze is a very light sleeper and was quickly woken up by her touch.
“Mmm...” She smiled and nodded her head.
He moved up to the sofa and sat closer to her. “Why didn’t you ask me to send you here last night?”
Lin Wen Xin shook her head and explained, “You were busy with your work, and I didn’t want to disturb you. I can come here on my own anyway.”
“But it’s dangerous to go out alone at such a late hour. No matter how busy I am, I will still make time for you.”
Wang Shen Ze added, “Promise me that you will always come to me first if such a thing happen again?”
“Mm okay, I will.” Lin Wen Xin smiled at him lovingly as she leaned on his shoulder.
-Knocking sound on door-
“President Wang, they are here.” Yi Fan reported succinctly.
Wang Shen Ze then brought Lin Wen Xin out to meet the team of cardiologists who would be treating her father.
Of course, she was initially very surprised when she found out about this, and is very grateful to him for taking the initiative to make such an arrangement for her.
Twenty four hours have passed. Lin Gao Hai is still in a coma and has yet to wake up.
They have since requested for him to be transferred over to Yue He Hospital where the Wang Family’s private medical team could provide extensive care for him on a personal level.
Several days have gone by and Lin Gao Hai is still not responding to their treatment. Lin Wen Xin naturally became more anxious and have also gradually lost her appetite for food.
She has been quietly holding on to her father’s hand for close to six hours and have not taken her eyes off him.
“Wen Xin, be good, you have to eat a little.” Wang Shen Ze poured a small bowl of herbal chicken soup and tried to feed her but she wouldn’t drink it.
She has already skipped her lunch for the day and he is definitely not going to give in to her again for skipping her dinner too.
Wang Shen Ze glared coldly at the team of cardiologists and medical staffs who are standing behind him, nervously.
This bunch of useless people! If they had the ability to cure her father, she would be eating now with no issues at all!
No one dared to make a sound as they looked down to the ground. The room is so silent that only the beeping sound from the monitor could be heard.
Actually it was not that the team wasn’t working hard enough, but that Lin Gao Hai’s condition is beyond cure and there was nothing much that the team could do about it.
There is always a limit to what humans can do and sometimes things are really just out of our control. Even money could do nothing to change the situation.
It is one of those rare times that Wang Shen Ze actually felt so powerless. He did not want to see her cry. He did not want to see her suffer.
He told her that he could give her anything she wanted but at this moment, he realised that he really could not.
There was a stabbing pain in his heart as he watched her grieve over the loss of her father.
If only he could buy back the life of her father...
“Dad, I’ll see you again in heaven.”
...
Lin Wen Xin finally returned to the villa with Wang Shen Ze after the funeral procedures were over.
He had been staying by her side these few weeks and had definitely been a great help to her in coordinating everything.
“From today onwards, your bedroom will be beside mine. I’ve already gotten the servants to move your belongings up.”
Wang Shen Ze held on to her hand and whispered in her ears, “But if you want to move in to my room, I wouldn’t mind too.”
After teasing her brazenly, he smirked as he continued to lead her up to her bedroom.
Lin Wen Xin’s face instantly turned red and she could not help but quickly glance around to see if anyone has heard what he had said to her.
This guy is really getting bolder by the day. Thankfully the servants were standing very far away from them!
It is definitely fine for them to share the same room since they are already a married couple. But Wang Shen Ze wanted to respect Lin Wen Xin and did not want to force her until she is ready.
The servants have also noticed his drastic change of attitude towards her, and they have started to treat Lin Wen Xin with greater respect and care.
Without a doubt, they are also more fearful of her now especially since they have previously mistreated her in the house.
If she speaks a word about what had happened before to Wang Shen Ze, all of them would simply lose their job in a second!
“Madam, I will take a new spoon for you.” A servant quickly rushed up to her after seeing that she had accidentally dropped it on the ground.
“Oh it’s okay! I can do it on my own.” Lin Wen Xin smiled politely as she casually walked to the kitchen to take another one.
She was already very used to living independently in the house and felt that it was not a big deal to get something on her own. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
However, in the eyes of Wang Shen Ze, this is completely unacceptable!
-Bang!-
He slammed his knife down on the dining table and all the servants in the dining hall froze.
