Chapter 727 The Obedient One
Hearing the busy tone on the phone, Abbot froze for a moment. Then, he turned to look at Colin and
said, "He is worse than you."
When Colin heard that, he stopped his hand that was fiddling with the teacup. He raised his eyes to
look at Abbot, but he didn't say a word.
Abbot was horrified by Colin's stare. He raised his eyebrows and asked, "Why are you staring at me?"
Colin answered without changing his expression, "I'm doing self-reflection now. Why did Ethan and I
choose to be friends with you since we have such a high emotional intelligence?"
Abbot twitched his lips and said, "I don't think you guys be friends with me because I am compatible
with your EQ."
Colin chuckled and asked, "Then, what is it?"
Abbot continued, "Obviously, it's because of my outstanding appearance!"
After Abbot finished speaking, Colin drank his tea and remained silent.
At that moment, silence expressed more than words did.
Since there was no argument, no one would be hurt by words. But the sense of insult was extremely
strong.
With Colin's guidance, Abbot went along with Rebecca's words after that.
At first, Rebecca still yelled at him. After that, she seemed to notice something and stopped giving
Abbot any hard time. Even though her expression still didn't look good.
Halfway through the dinner, Abbot suddenly mentioned the wedding of Carlotta and Jadon.
Abbot asked, "Did Jadon ask you two to be the best man and bridesmaid?"
Colin answered, "He mentioned it briefly two days ago."
Abbot continued, "Well, Jadon seems to make up his mind to ask us to be the best men and
bridemaids. He only has one best friend."
Colin smiled lightly and put a piece of potato on Faye's plate, "He only has one best friend. Will there
be enough bride maid?"
Abbot said mockingly, "Why is it insufficient? Isn't there Lance? The bridesmaid's dress is ready for
him."
Hearing Abbot's words, Colin raised his eyebrows and looked playful.
Abbot chuckled and said, "Don't look at me like that. Lance volunteers to be the bridesmaid and no one
forces him."
After Abbot finished speaking, he was worried that Colin wouldn't believe him. Therefore, he turned to
ask Faye, "Isn't it, Faye?"
Faye smiled and said, "Well, I know about that."
Abbot said, "A good man knows when to yield and when not. Lance is definitely a good man."
Colin teased, "Are you envious? I will ask Jadon to order a bridesmaid dress for you later."
Abbot replied, "I will wear it if you wear it too."
Colin sneered, "I don't envy other men."
They were chatting while eating.
After dinner, Colin paid the bill. Then, the four of them came out from Marriott. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
They said goodbye to each other on the steps.
Rebecca took Faye's hand and asked her about Tanner in a low voice, "Have you been in touch with
Tanner recently?"
Faye replied, "No, but I heard that he gets a new role in a new movie two days ago and he is the male
lead."
Rebecca nodded, sighed, and said "If it wasn't because of that incident, the three of us would still be
good friends."
After Rebecca finished speaking, Faye smiled but didn't say a word.
There was no opposite-sex friendship that could last forever after marriage.
If so, there would only be two possibilities. The first one was that one of them was homosexual, or the
second reason would be one of them could hold on to themselves very well.
Seeing that Faye was quiet, Rebecca knew that she shouldn't continue with that topic. She held onto
Faye tighter and said, "Faye, we must be together forever."
Faye smiled and said, "Do you have any plan to betray me along the way?"
While Faye and Rebecca were having their conversation, Colin was advising Abbot on the side, "You
had some wine today. Let Rebecca sends you home later."
Abbot said with his hands in his pockets and looked determined, "Don't worry. I know the trick."
Colin teased, "That's not bad. Your EQ has improved in terms of relationships."
After a while, they parted ways.
Faye and Colin made their move first while Abbot and Rebecca left behind.
The two looked at each other. After about half a minute, Rebecca said with a straight face, "Call your
assistant to pick you up."
Abbot pretended to look down at the watch on his wrist. Then, he raised his head and said, "It's eleven
o'clock now. No matter how harsh I am, I shouldn't have bullied my staff like that. Right?"
Rebecca continued, "Then, get yourself a chauffeur."
Abbot pursed his lips and said with a serious face, "I'll have to pay him more at this hour."
When he mentioned money, it reminded Rebecca about the deal that she had lost, and that triggered
her pain.
Seeing Rebecca's expression, Abbot seemed to notice something. He raised his hand, touched the tip
of his nose, and said, "I don't dare to spend money recklessly now. After we two get married, mine will
be yours. I have to save it for you."
