Chapter 686
As Debra and Marion walked hand in hand out of the house, Debra couldn’t shake off a sense of unease.
“Is Caleb reliable?”
“Well, I can’t say for sure. But you remember the engagement banquet my parents were supposed to have? Caleb wanted to handle that too, but my dad was against it. Now, he finally has a chance to be involved in my engagement, so let’s just let him have his fun.”
“Well, let’s
hope it’s not too over the top.”
She hadn’t even finished her sentence when suddenly, the alarm sirens pierced the air. Squads of guards scrambled into formation, and a booming voice echoed from the speakers overhead. Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
“Attention! Mr. Marion Houston is about to get married All departments prepare for security measures. All personnel on alert!”
Debra covered her face with her free hand, embarrassment flooding her cheeks. Hopefully, things at the engagement banquet wouldn’t get out of hand.
When they arrived home, Debra found Erica had called multiple times, and when Debra finally her
back, Erica’s excited voice burst through the phone.
“Debra, wow! You’ve finally shaken off Juan for good.”
“How did you know?”
She hadn’t even had the chance to tell Erica yet.
“How could I not know? The whole country knows by now.”
A sinking feeling settled in Debra’s stomach. She quickly turned on the TV, and sure enough, there was the breaking news.
[Mr. Houston to marry Ms. Fraizer.]
The news broadcast played on a loop, leaving Debra in shock. Caleb wasn’t just announcing it to the family, he was announcing it to the entire world.
“I finally understand why your dad refused to let Caleb organize his engagement banquet,” Debrat muttered, shaking her head.
This was shaping up to be a disaster.
Sure enough, within minutes, the news had blown up online.
[Never expected the gigolo to be Mr. Houston. This is totally swoon–worthy.]
[What kind of real–life CEO romance is this?]
[Looks like Mr. Nichols‘ engagement party is about to be a total flop. Word on the street is that both engagements are happening on the same day, and the venues are right next to each other. Talk about awkward timing!]

“Engagements on the same day, at venues right next door,” Debra murmured, lifting her head to look at Marion.
She noticed he had somehow already taken off his shirt, revealing his chiseled abs and those tempting lines on his waistline that made her cheeks flush.
“Why are you taking off your clothes in broad daylight? she blurted, quickly averting her eyes.
Marion smiled, a playful glint in his eyes. “Just taking a shower. Why are you suddenly so shy?”
He moved closer, scooping Debra into his arms, his attention fully on her instead of the news. “Today’s a special day. Don’t you think we should celebrate?” he murmured, nipping at her earlobe.
In Orkgate, angry cries echoed through Drake’s office.
“Mr. Lowe, please. Have mercy.”
Drake watched the news of Marion and Debra’s engagement flash across the screen. Clenching his fists, he muttered, “Marion, you’ve outplayed me again.”
