Pampered by Billionaires after Being Betrayed

Chapter 48

Chapter 48 We Get Married

Mr. Satan's lips covered hers, silencing her.

"Emily, this is a vow, not a wish."

She bit her lip. "Just pretend it's a wish."

He sighed deeply, a mix of happiness and resignation. "Emily, you're too kind."

"What do you mean?"

"Luckily it's me you've encountered," Mr. Satan said. "If it were the man we just mentioned, James, who saved your father with money, would you treat him the same way? He's a playboy, and you would get hurt." Emily pouted. "I'm not stupid. I won't give my heart to every man."Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Hmm," Mr. Satan expressed skepticism. "What if you had actually met him? What would you do then?"

"Well..." Emily paused, pondering for a moment, before replying, "I would definitely repay him. I would work harder to earn money to pay him back."

Mr. Satan booped her nose. "He doesn't need money. You should know what men want from women. He wants you. Emily, let me ask you, if he demanded your body, would you agree?"

Emily shook her head. "I've never thought about that question, and it's not a scenario."

"If, just if."

"If he wanted my body..." Emily quickly shook her head again. "I wouldn't. I can repay him in any other way, but I won't accept using my body as payment."

"Very good answer," Mr. Satan couldn't help but smile. "So, you're willing to be with me, not just because I saved your father with money, right?"

There was a hint of probing in his tone, and Emily could clearly sense it.

However, this kind of probing also made her heart soar.

"Because it's you," Emily said. "I'm lucky, it's you."

"Same here."

A kiss silenced any further words between them.

After the kiss ended, Mr. Satan said, "Has Nathan not submitted the divorce papers to the government yet? Urge him to end this marriage quickly. Once my affairs are settled, we'll get married immediately. I don't want to wait another day." What else could she say? A thousand words could only be summed up in one word: "Okay."

The next day, the weather was clear, and couples embraced each other on the streets. The sweet atmosphere from yesterday continued, seemingly undiminished today.

Emily woke up early and called Nathan.

The phone connected, and Sophia's voice came through: "Caught in the act, aren't you? Emily, do you regret it? Calling Nathan so early in the morning, do you still deny that you have feelings for him?"

Her good mood early in the morning was ruined by this sharp voice.

In a cold tone, Emily said, "Fine, I admit I have feelings for him. I just want to ask him out to meet. Are you angry?"

Sophia lowered her voice and cursed angrily, "Emily, do you have any shame?"

Ignoring her, Emily continued, "Not only do I want to ask him out, but I also want to go somewhere with him. Are you mad?"

"You..."

"Enough with your nonsense. As a mistress, you have no right to speak in front of me, understand?"

Sophia hung up in anger.

Her finger hovered over the "Add to Blacklist" button, but she hesitated to press it.

The last time she secretly blocked Emily's number, Nathan was very angry with her, and he still hadn't forgiven her until now. They weren't married yet, so she couldn't really confront Nathan.

After some thought, Sophia deleted the call log and threw the phone back on the pillow, sitting on the bed, panting.

The sound of rushing water came from the bathroom; Nathan was taking a shower.

His recent attitude toward Emily had made her extremely anxious!

Not once had Nathan mentioned his lingering feelings for Emily in front of her, wanting to reconcile with her. Thankfully, Emily had called at this time today. If Nathan had answered Emily's call, wouldn't he be overjoyed?

Just as Sophia was rejoicing for a few seconds, Nathan's phone rang again.

It was Emily.

"Damn it!" Sophia continued to hang up.

Emily seemed relentless until she achieved her goal. After being hung up on, her next call quickly followed. Finally unable to bear it, Sophia answered, "Emily, what do you want?"

Her request was simple: "Let Nathan answer the phone." "He's showering, he can't answer."

"Using that excuse again?" Emily sneered. "You've played this trick once before. I warn you, Sophia, if he's in the shower, go into the

bathroom and give him the phone!"

Sophia shook with anger. "You, how dare you! I'll let him see how deceitful you are behind that innocent facade!"

Emily sneered, "It's not your place to judge me. Even if I'm malicious, it's because of you!"

Just then, the sound of running water in the bathroom ceased.

Nathan, wearing a bathrobe, stepped out and immediately spotted Sophia sitting on the bed with her back to him, holding his phone and making a call. "Whose call is it?" Nathan snatched the phone from her hand. "Did I give you permission to answer my calls?"

Sophia jumped in surprise. "Nathan."

Nathan glanced at the caller ID on the phone, his expression changing. His gaze towards Sophia turned scrutinizing and disdainful.

"I didn't call to threaten her, she called me herself! What are you looking at? I really didn't..."

"I didn't say you called to threaten her, why are you panicking?" Nathan wasn't foolish; he understood instantly. "So you really used my phone to call her before?" "No, Nathan, I..."

"No wonder Emily hates me so

much, it's because of you!" Nathan said coldly "You used my phone to humiliate her. She thought it was with my consent, so she refused to turn back. Sophia, you've hidden it so deep!"
