Chapter 752
Chapter 752
Tina froze.
Flustered, she wondered if Samuel had sent someone to stalk her.
Tina was going to turn around, only to find the road blocked.
She was appalled so much that her heart almost stopped beating, and she clutched the knife in her hand.
'What do you want?"
Mr. Wise hadn't expected such a quick reaction from the girl.
He took a closer look and freaked out at the sight of a knife in her hand.
Mr. Wise wimped out, stepped backward, and waved his hand.
"Miss, easy, I mean you no harm. I’m a detective, and there is something I want to ask you."
It was already dark, and Tina's eyesight was poor. She looked at the blurry figure and found him familiar to the eye. A scene at the orphanage resurfaced in her mind.
'A detective? The same one who infiltrated the orphanage and stole the surveillance equipment?'
Tina hadn't expected this man to have the guts to appear in front of her. Her anger was ignited.
"I don't care who you are. Get out of my sight. I don't have time to answer any of your questions."
With that, she wielded the knife in her hand to drive Mr. Wise back, rushed toward the villa, and shouted, "Help, a man is lurking about."
Upon hearing her shouting, Mr. Wise didn't dare to linger. He turned around and ran off.
Well-trained, the bodyguards patrolling the villa soon rushed in the
direction pointed by Tina. 1 This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
Thanks to his anti-tracking skills, the veteran detective was not caught.
He hid in a corner, lost the tail, and fumed.
On his way back, Mr. Wise made a phone call. "Miss Moore, I'm afraid I can't accomplish the task entrusted by you."
'What did you say?" Fiona rasped, not satisfied with Mr. Wise's remark.
"Didn't you say that you had discovered the hideout of that coquette? Now you're telling me you can't finish your task. Are you playing games with me? Believe it or not, I can drive you out of Freesia."
Mr. Wise really regretted taking the case. He hadn't expected it to be so tricky. He had thought it was an ordinary love affair. Unexpectedly, the Langford family was involved.
Samuel's name alone was daunting.
"Miss Moore, I'm not playing games. I've been tirelessly tracking that coquette and learned that she had been
working as a maid in the villa of the Langford family.
"I thought I could keep watching the villa till she showed up, but..."
Mr. Wise was frustrated.
'But all the maids there are wearing masks, and their clothes are like costumes. How am I supposed to find her?
'The bodyguards around the villa have been alarmed. If I continued with the blind search, I might be caught, and
you might offend Mr. Langford.
That's not desirable."
Mr. Wise's words unnerved Fiona. 1
But she didn't want to give up so easily. She had taken pains to track down the coquette. It was only one step
away from getting her revenge.
Suddenly...
Something came to Fiona, and her eyes lit up.
■Right!"
