Chapter 841 Entering the Lowery Residence
The next day, Alondra arrived at the Lowery residence as promised. She was carrying the gift box that
had been given to Cecilia that day.
However, the difference was that the medicine in the box Alondra was carrying was real tonics.
Alondra had contacted Cecilia prior to her arrival, so the housekeepers did not prevent her from
entering the Lowery residence.
At that moment, Edith was sitting in the living room.
When she saw Alondra, a dark look flashed across her eyes, but she didn't appear to be unhappy.
Alondra appeared rather nervous in comparison to Edith's calm demeanor.
When Alondra saw Edith, tears welled up in her eyes.
She stood there hesitantly, as though debating whether or not to take a step forward.
Edith's heart ached upon seeing Alondra.
Edith had always been sincere to Alondra.
However, she did not expect her to have done so many terrible things while pretending to be innocent.
Hence, Edith had mixed feelings when she saw Alondra.
Cecilia was the one who broke the silence between them.
Cecilia stepped downstairs and saw Alondra standing in the doorway, dazed, while her mother sat
silently on the couch.
Cecilia walked over to Alondra and drew her into the living room, frowning.
"Why are you standing there? Mom sent the housekeeper to buy your favorite dishes early this
morning. You have to stay for lunch!"
Hearing Cecilia's words, Alondra looked at Edith in surprise, while Edith averted her gaze
uncomfortably.
Alondra's heart was momentarily stricken with guilt upon observing Edith's expression.
Alondra knew that her feelings were all fake, but Edith didn't seem to really want to blame her.
Alondra was unsettled by this.
However, Alondra quickly regained her composure.
There was no room for negotiation anymore, at this point.
It was impossible to remove Alondra's facade.
Alondra knew of the consequences that would await her if she were to remove the facade.
With that in mind, Alondra's gratitude toward Edith grew more evident.
"Mrs.Lowery, I heard that you haven't slept well these days, and I heard Cecilia say that the medicine
from last time was very effective, so I asked my friend from abroad to send another box!"
Edith's expression softened when she saw the familiar packaging.
Edith's inability to sleep was clearly a long-standing issue, now that she was old.
Edith had been able to sleep soundly every night since she began taking the tonics that were given to
her by Alondra.
Despite the fact that she didn't appear to be in a good state the next day, she was relieved to be able to
sleep."What a coincidence! We just happened to have finished the last box.
Mom requires these tonics!"
Cecilia accepted the gift box from Alondra as she spoke.
When Alondra saw Cecilia being so proactive, her eyes flitted slightly. She remained silent for a few
moments before speaking.All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
