Debt
As Alexander parked his car and entered the compound, he walked directly to the grand mansion that stood before him. His eyes scanned the spacious living room, but there was no sign of his wife, Amy.
Mrs. Gale, the housekeeper, approached Alexander with a warm smile. “Alex, you’re home,” she greeted him.
Alexander returned the smile, albeit a small one. “Is Amy upstairs?” he asked, his voice filled with anticipation.
Mrs. Gale’s expression shifted slightly as she delivered the news. “No, she went out with one of the guards to buy some things,” she explained.
Alexander’s face contorted into a frown upon hearing this. He had been looking forward to seeing his wife and teasing her playfully, but it seemed that opportunity would have to wait. He couldn’t understand why Amy hadn’t asked one of the maids to handle the errand instead.
“What things? Couldn’t the maids have taken care of it?” Alexander asked, his displeasure evident in his voice.
Mrs. Gale hastened to explain, hoping to shed some light on the situation. “No, it’s not their fault, sir,” she clarified. “Amy insisted on going by herself. She said she wanted to buy some things specific to women, you know.”
Alexander nodded, understanding Amy’s desire for independence and privacy. He loosened his tie a bit and made his way upstairs. As he ascended the staircase, his mind wandered, contemplating the reasons behind Amy’s decision.
Reaching the top floor, Alexander walked down the hallway, passing by the closed doors of various rooms. He eventually arrived at their bedroom and pushed the door open. The room was quiet and devoid of Amy’s presence, causing a tinge of disappointment to wash over him.
He discarded his jacket and tie on a nearby chair, then flopped down onto the plush bed. He let out a deep sigh, trying to push away the frustration that had been building up within him.
As he lay there, Alexander’s thoughts wandered back to the early days of their marriage.
It still feels like yesterday when he stood on the aisle with a stoic and Angry expression on, totally kicking on the idea of getting married, Amelia wasn’t exceptional.
He had treated her not too well.
But thinking up to now, things were different, the hate had slowly dissipated after spending lots of time with Her and seeing that she was instead different like how his father had described.
Alexander took his phone and dialed George’s number, he was slowly getting impatient In waiting, not that he didn’t take Liam’s advice but One thing about Liam’s advice was that, it was a bit too slow.
He wanted something different and Quick, though he knew The idea could be stupid at times.
George’s voice rang through the phone, his tone filled with cheerfulness. “Hey!” he greeted.
Alexander’s frown deepened at the sound of George’s overly enthusiastic voice. He knew he shouldn’t have called his friend, but he was feeling restless and needed someone to talk to, even if it was George.
Trying to maintain his composure, Alexander responded calmly, “How did you manage to get married to your wife?” He got straight to the point, hoping to glean some valuable insight.
“Uh?” George seemed taken aback by the question. “Could you elaborate a bit?” he asked, seeking clarification.
Alexander rose from the bed, holding the phone closer to his ear. His voice was filled with a mix of curiosity and desperation as he pressed on, “How did you make your wife fall for you? How did you navigate the path from initial attraction to love?” It was clear that Alexander was seeking guidance in matters of the heart.
A wide smile spread across George’s face as he heard the question. He took a moment to gather his thoughts before responding confidently, “Simple. I made her owe me debts.”
Alexander’s eyes widened in disbelief, his hand instinctively moving to his forehead. He couldn’t believe the absurdity of George’s response. Was this the advice he was going to get?
Feeling increasingly frustrated, Alexander questioned his decision to confide in George. “Can you please be serious for once?” he asked in frustration, hoping that his friend would offer some genuine guidance.
George’s smile slightly faded as he sensed the seriousness in Alexander’s tone. He cleared his throat and adopted a more sincere voice. “Okay, okay. I’ll be serious,” he assured.
Leaning against the bedroom wall, Alexander listened intently, hopeful that George would finally provide some meaningful advice.
“When we were still in high school, Gabriella was always the type that was difficult so my quick remedy was to always help her do things so she could feel indebted to me and her heart eventually softened a bit because she felt she owed me too much to hurt my feelings, and from there, I started shooting my shots and boomed….. here we are,” George said and Alexander just snarled at that but was absorbing everything he said.
“Things like what??” Alexander asked again
“Anything and sometimes, playing the superhero is cool and Heart moving,” George said
That made a little sense though.
“Such a stupid idea..” with that said, Alexander ended the call as if he wasn’t interested but he met everything George had said to him.
He could just apply both advice from Liam and George to make things faster.
Alexander gripped his phone as he remembered the words.
Being your real self, Be more open and Romantic to her.
Making her feel indebted to him.
He shouldn’t do too much of that so as not to make her think of him as a helper instead of A partner who was worth her love.
Meanwhile, on the other side, George snorted as he stared at his phone screen in utter displeasure.RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
“Must he have to hang up on me after getting my attention?? Rascal” George said and Parked into his compound.
At the Shopping mall, Amelia kept strolling from one row of Daily necessities to another.
She didn’t allow the guard to come walk close to her, she didn’t want to drag everyone’s attention on her by letting her guard follow her around.
It was also uncomfortable being watched 24/7.
She went to the female center to get some sanitary pads and panties.
She saw different colors and sizes of Bras, her face flushed a bit when she saw a man Taking some of them into his basket.
She suddenly thought of the image of Alexander coming to buy her Bras in a mall by himself.
What a sight that would be!
Amelia laughed at that silly thought of hers.
