The Cursed Wolf’s Love

Let me take care of you

Adolphus stopped gradually as he kept his face buried in the crook of her neck. In his deep voice, he said, “When you were not in front of my sight, do you know what was the most tortuous feeling for me?” he inquired.

Iris plainly refused, trying to process what just happened between the two. She didn’t protest him to stop, in turn, she asked for more.

Adolphus then lifted his head and peered into her eyes. “I couldn’t get your scent. I was helpless and restless. I don’t want to live separately from you anymore, Iris. I want you to be mine forever. I want you to marry me,” he proposed her for the marriage and then took the pendant off his neck. He put it around Iris’ neck and met her gaze again.

“You can’t refuse me, Iris. In the beginning, it was a master-slave relationship with you. But now, it has turned into a relationship of lovers. Be mine,” Adolphus said while confessing his feelings for her.

“What about the King, the Queen and the others? They won’t allow us to be together, Your Grace,” Iris opined.

“Do you have faith in me?” Adolphus asked her.

“I do,” Iris gave a prompt reply.

“Then, you don’t have to worry about anything. I will fight with everyone for you. I would like to see who wants to go against my decision,” Adolphus proclaimed, his decision to be with her was firm.

“I don’t wish to see His Grace getting questioned about choosing me. It’s not only about my identity as a human. It’s more about having a stronger Luna by your side. I am not a werewolf and that’s where everything stops,” Iris explained to him.

Adolphus completely concurred with her words. “You can become a werewolf later. However, I wish you to stay as a human. You have become much stronger from the moment when I saw you in the beginning. You know if I had confessed to another woman at your place, she would not have thought twice about accepting me. You care for me and that’s what matters to me.”

Iris smiled a little to hear his explanation. “I was brought as a maid to the Crown Prince. Does he not worry about his reputation?” she inquired.

“I want to go after my happiness. What’s the use of this reputation if you won’t be by my side? I can’t live in torture every single day. That’s why I want you more than anything at the current moment. The rest of the things are not important for me at this time,” Adolphus elaborated how the weigh of his feelings more than his title, his reputation.

Iris hummed in response and lowered her head. “What happened to Jason? Also, how did His Grace find me? My location wasn’t revealed to many.” She confusedly glanced at him for the answer.

“Hudson told me. He is a close friend of mine,” Adolphus stated.

“I thought the King’s loyalists wouldn’t tell you about my location,” Iris opined.

“Well, I am special then,” Adolphus answered, a smile tugging across his lips. “You promised me you would stay by my side. Did you forget it already?” he then questioned.

Iris raised her head and their gazes locked with each other. “I failed to keep that promise. For that, I apologize. However, the Crown Prince asked me not to show my face to him,” Iris reminded him.

“I was in anger,” Adolphus said.

“I thought my face would anger His Grace more,” Iris asserted.

“You naive girl! You never make me angry. Your face calms me. You don’t even have any idea what I feel around you,” Adolphus pronounced. “Also, the way you fought with Jason was incredible. You have turned stronger, Iris,” he added.

“What happened to Jason?” Iris asked. She feared that Adolphus might have killed him and her suspicion turned true as Adolphus confirmed it.

“I killed that bastard. He forgot whom he tried to harm,” Adolphus stated and his jaw tightened in a fury.

Iris hugged Adolphus, thus taking him by surprise. “Thank you for killing Jason. He pulled me by my hair and tried to kill Grandma Dorothy. He said if I weren’t a human, he would have used my body. I was scared at that moment. I seriously thought it was my last day. I’m grateful to the Crown Prince for protecting me from him,” she expressed everything to Adolphus which she experienced in the shortest moment earlier.

Adolphus’ heart ached to hear that. That bastard assaulted Iris and the mere thought of this escalated his anger. Now, Jason was dead, but the person who ordered it was none other than his father, King Xavier.

Adolphus tenderly stroked her tresses. “This won’t ever happen again,” he promised Iris.

Suddenly, her stomach growled and she promptly pulled away to cover it.

“You are hungry,” Adolphus said. “I’ll prepare the food for you,” he affirmed.

“How will His Grace do that? He doesn’t even know how to cook,” Iris remarked.

“You are underestimating me, Iris. I am a good cook. I’ll bring a soup for you. Stay here,” Adolphus told her and rose to his feet. Iris tried to get out of bed when Adolphus stopped her.

“I’ll tie you to bed if you try stepping down. Take rest and let me take care of you,” Adolphus affirmed. He leaned down and planted a soft kiss on the middle of her forehead.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

Adolphus went out of the small room and saw Joshua outside.

“I need to make soup for Iris. Do you know how to cook?” Adolphus asked him.

Joshua was amused to hear such a question. “Forgive me, Your Grace. I never cooked in my life,” he truthfully stated. “Iris can make the soup since she’s alright,” he added.

“No. I told her I’d make a soup for her. I cannot believe you even have no idea of cooking,” Adolphus stated.

“Why did His Grace lie to Iris?” Joshua inquired. “I will tell her that” he paused as Adolphus grabbed his arm.

“Don’t try to pull my legs. I’ll make a soup for her,” Adolphus proclaimed, and walked ahead toward the kitchen.
