Chapter 62: Grudges of the past
Christine.
I twitched my mouth in surprise as I stared at the gold ring and little note in my hands.
Do I deserve a king?
I fought back the laugh and pursed my lips at this guy’s audacity. He barely knows me but he’s already behaving as if we’ve been dating for decades and this could only mean one thing…. he’s doing this to piss Fanuel.
I raised my head to Look at Fanuel but he’s already blazing fire in eyes. This guy looks awfully dangerous when angry but hellishly cute.
He loosened his tie without saying anything while Jayden gestured his hands forward for the letter.
An amused smile breaks through those flawless lips. I’ve really missed him and his prudent behavior.
“Alex is really really sagacious” He blurted out and looked at Fanuel who was unbelievably calm.
“Wait for me at the reception Christine.” He said calmly and I frowned.
Why should he dismiss me when I need to also know why Alex sent that? I want to know the agreed grudge he has with Alex.
“I’m not.”
“Don’t even wear that tenacious act here, get out!”
“I need to also know why Alex sent me that, stop shutting me out on matters that concern me.”
“Christine?!”
“Fanuel! Are you telling me to accept that ring? I guess I should have signed a contract with someone like that instead, he would have treated me like a queen and not a….”
“Get out!! This will be the last time I will remind you to know your place and stop overstepping boundaries.”
Fanuel’s voice pieces my skin dangerously.
“Queen my trash…stop being nosy and get the fuck out.”NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
That really hurts my bones as I stared at Jayden who gave me a sorry look.
It seems whatever they want to say was too sensitive for me to hear after all.
I should know my boundaries and stop overstepping them.
I felt tears burning my eyes as I took my heels out of the exquisite glass boardroom.
Is this how my life will be?
I get shut out at sensitive matters and I’m being reminded of my status every now and then.
I keep crying and clawing blames on Webb when I should do something, I need to figure out what the heck is going on?
I can’t survive another close to Fanuel who acts lightly sweet now and acts extremely dangerous then.
I want my life back, I need to be free and find my voice and not being sentimental about every little thing.
If I don’t show my worth, Fanuel Hudson will continue to see and use me like trash when we are even.
I couldn’t file a case against him, that dude had the best lawyer all over the country and power from all nooks and cranny.
I took slow steps to the restroom and stared at my reflection in the mirror.
I was damn beautiful for a douchebag to treat me more or less. I dropped my purse on the white sink while I punched some numbers in my phone and waited for it to ring.
“Easton?”
“Christine.. are you okay? Did that…*
“I’m fine,” I sniffed.
“Shit! You don’t sound okay sis.. where the heck are you?”
“Hudson’s chemical technologies, Fanuel took me there.”
“I’m on my way, just hang on. I’m already close by.”
He said and I closed my eyes with relief.
Staying close to my brother will be my medicine and I could really do with getting out from this place while they take their trash in solitude.
I won’t be tossed out like a moron to sit and wait while I get pitiful stares from bypassers.
To hell with them.
I rinse my hands when a beautiful petite lady surges forward and passes me to wash her hands and apply some lip gloss without breaking contact with me.
“You’re beautiful.” She said and blinked.
“Oh.. thanks, you too.”
“It’s obvious you’re going through a sham, why not quit.”
Now who the heck is this?
“Don’t worry, I’m just someone going through the same fate. But if you don’t fight back, you will crumble to nothing.”
“How do you know me?” She scoffed.
“Who doesn’t know the famous billionaire wife? You’re more like a celebrity to the world but a puppet at home. I can show you how to use these powers and fight for yourself .”
“I’m not interested, thanks.”
“I know you will say that, I’m one of your husband’s investors, here’s my card.”
I stared at her hands until she dropped it in my purse and smiled.
Kayla Anderson.
Her name was written boldly on the beautiful Pink card. I whipped my face to stare at her, my guts doesn’t like this woman at all.
“Just give me a call, we can be besties, you know.” She gave me a wink and swayed her hips as she left.
I scoffed, besties indeed!
She’s someone going through the same fate, does it mean she’s aware of my predicament? How the heck does she know? I thought all these were supposed to be kept away from the public eyes, what’s it with everyone these days.
I carried my purse and dapped my face with my fingers before heading out.
Easton should be here anytime soon.

Third pov
“None of these hyperventilating acts of yours will work, we just need to watch his every move quietly.”
Jay told his brother who was keen on causing havoc to Alex.
“While he keeps pulling pranks? That idiot followed me all the way to Dubai like an evil spirit!”
“So you would prefer having scandals barely after you just resumed?”
Fanuel bit his lips and sighed.
“I’m meeting his father” Jayden stood up.
“You can’t do that jeez! That guy already hates our guts. Forget the fact that he dislikes his son, he dislikes dad too and will do anything to see us crumble don’t be swayed by that facàde he wears as an uncle.”
“Do you have a better suggestion?”
“Fanuel…see don’t you think Alex is doing all of this because of Crystal?”
Fanuel whipped his eyes as a warning to Jayden.
“Don’t you ever mention her name again!”
“I just..
“Stop!!! It’s a dead and forbidden topic I will never want anyone to brood on.. never!!”
“Alex will do anything to bring you down now that he’s back, it’s either you settle amicably or you both face the consequences.”
Fanuel reached for the bottle of water standing close to him and he uncovered it and gulped everything to calm his scorching throat.
Everything was getting too much for him to digest at once.
He stared at the beautiful package sent to Christine and trash it in the bin.
He was going to ignore him, he thinks using Christine would be a bait to make him waver or come at him.
He should try harder cause his sole aim right now was his father’s company and not any personal grudges of the past.
