Glenys, the Director of the Retainer, with the objective in mind to conquer Christopher, tried in several opportunities to get in touch with him, but she did not succeed. So, determined to see him and seeing that she had not been able to reach him for days, she went to his office.
When she arrived, she was greeted by his assistant, who was in his office, finishing some pending tasks. In the meantime, he was meeting with his new associates and had requested that no one disturb him, unless it was his mother.
-Can I help you? -asked Elian, Christopher’s assistant very politely.
-Yes, I’m looking for Christopher, I’m his friend and director of Retention,” she clarified, looking into the office, which was open.
-The CEO is not available at the moment, he is in a meeting and asked not to be disturbed,” he added.
-Will he be long? -she asked incredulously.
-I wouldn’t know, the meeting has been going on for two hours already and there is no sign that it will end,” he assured, looking at the time on his watch.
-Then I won’t wait for him. Please tell him that Glenys was here and that when he leaves he should call me, I’ll be waiting for his call.
-Gladly! -said the assistant.
-Good afternoon,” she said goodbye, leaving a strong scent of her fragrance in the hallway that evidenced her good taste.

In the middle of the afternoon, far from there, Amber decided not to wait any longer and left in her car to go to the Prosecutor’s Office and the Courts, to file the complaint and introduce the criminal lawsuit against Michelle Fontain and Sergeant Mendoza. The complaint was admitted, within the time limit established by law, and the ordinary proceeding was initiated.
For this proceeding, the statement of the Director of the Retainer, the doctor who attended Amber, as well as the guards on duty that night were required. The rest of the prisoners who participated in this, two of whom would be called to ratify the statement they signed, were also issued a ballot.
Michelle, who trusted her friends, the prosecutor and the judge she used in Amber’s case, called them immediately to stop the complaint and lawsuit filed against her. But they could do nothing, it had already been admitted and had fallen into the hands of impartial and honest officials.
Obviously, she, faced with this situation and moving quickly, decided to flee and leave the country in a private plane, to a place where there was no extradition. Amber, learning of this, quickly informed the judge of the case about her escape, and he requested a red notice from Interpol.
With this red notice, Michelle could be arrested and extradited to any country where extradition is possible. Meanwhile, Mendoza, having been notified of the complaint and lawsuit against him, began a flight by road that ended in a chase that almost cost him his life.
Once out of danger, he and the rest of those implicated in this crime, including the two prisoners who collaborated with Amber, accepted the charges and decided to negotiate with the prosecutor for the reduction of their sentence. They all pointed to Michelle Fontain as the mastermind of the crime.
Christopher, who was also present at this hearing, was pleased with this outcome, as it may help Amber to be convinced that he had nothing to do with the beating. However, his conscience could not shut her up and he felt guilty as a result.
Amber, on the other hand, was not very convinced and continued to doubt him, especially since she wondered how Michelle knew about Amber’s alleged cheating on Christopher. If this was something that didn’t come up, since none of the three of them made mention of it, supposedly.
Logically, it was proven at trial that it was Michelle who gave the information to the detainees, so that they could pass it on to Amber, but how did she find out? Who told her? These are the questions, the answers to which Amber still has not been able to get.
At the end of the hearing, surrounded by her team of lawyers, she watched as Christopher walked towards her.
-Do you still think I paid for you to be beaten? -Christopher asked, directly to her, with an expressionless look without caring about the group of people present.
-I prefer not to answer that question until I have reliable proof of it in my hands,” answered Amber with a withering look, separating from the group of lawyers and moving away from him.
-I have more information that could help you, but this is not the right place to show it to you, can you come with me to my office? -he asked, his voice husky and manly.
-What kind of information, coming from you, could I use? -she asked ironically.
-That depends on you,” he assured her, “on your perception and analytical skills.
Besides, it will help you to understand many things that I am not going to mention here, because you won’t believe me unless you see them, you have my cell phone number, call me if you want to see them,” he replied, walking towards the exit.
She, doubting that it was a strategy of his, to harm her in some way, thought about everything he said and made a decision. She was hopeful that there really wasn’t something hidden behind his proposal, so she accepted.
-Okay, let’s get it over with! -she affirmed. Thus, she left the courtroom first, followed by him.
Arriving at Christopher’s office
All those who knew the relationship that existed between them years ago, looked and murmured among themselves, amazed and admired when they saw them walking towards his office. He opened the door and invited her in with a wave of his hands.
-Would you like a coffee or some other drink? -he asked, as he reached for a key to open a drawer in his desk.
-No, thanks, I don’t want anything! I just came for the information you offered me! Well! I need to evaluate it first, to know if it’s useful or not,” she affirmed, looking him straight in the eye and holding his gaze.
-As you wish! -Taking out a USB memory stick and inserting it into his personal laptop, he invited her to sit next to him, which she did not accept.
-Thank you, I’m fine! -she replied…
