His Rogue Omega: Chapter 124

“Having fun?” I growl at Rowan as I wait for Eva and Dean to come. out of the restroom, leaning against the SUV I pull my shades over my eyes.
“How long did it take you to get there last year?” It feels like we have been driving for days when it’s only really been around six hours and four rest stops.
“About eight hours, I think it’s going to take us a bit longer this year.” I scowl at Rowan as he waves at some of the Pack coming out of the rest stop store, “Selena isn’t answering her phone.” He scowls down at his phone as if it’s personally responsible for his mate not answering him. back.
“She’s pregnant and a Doctor, if there was an issue she would tell you.” I look behind me as I talk to see Eva walking across the parking lot carrying a much less grouchy than before.
“Still not happy about being summoned to this Moon Ceremony, it was your turn this year.” I shrug my shoulders and jump off the SUVF to open the door for Eva so she can put Dean into the carseat.
“Well Darryl wouldn’t have summoned us all if it wasn’t important.” Eva says as she masterfully straps in Dean and hands him his little. slate black wolf I bought him a few months ago. “Besides I want to go, I didn’t get to go last year and I’ve never been.” I smile at her as she leans up to kiss me on the check before jumping into the passenger scal.
“Relax, she’s likely with a patient or with a patient or napping.” I slam Rowan on the arm as he heads back over to the minivan of Pack members and I jump into the driver’s seat of the SUV.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
“Want me to try calling her?” I nod my head at Eva as I start the car up, I’m not sure when it happened but at some point me and Eva just suddenly started thinking the same thing. It’s like we are in perfect sync, the last year with her, Dean and the Pack has been nothing short of bliss.
“Damn mud.” I growl as I slow the SUV to a crawl, the Moon Ceremony is deep in a natural forest, it’s all mud and trees. Which is beautiful but last night there was apparently a small ocean dropped here because the muddy floor is almost like driving over wet cement.
“Selena texted back,” I make a sound to show Eva I’m listening but I keep my eyes on the non existent road, “she had a patient in surgery. She’s all good and so is the pup.” I breathe a sigh of relief as I watch the mud splattered white minivan pull into a parking spot.
“Finally.” I smile as I finally turn the car off and turn to see Dean snoozing in his carseat, “now he sleeps? Screams the whole way here but sleeps now we are here.” Eva actually giggles as she slides from the car and slowly closes the door, I quickly follow her. I’ll get the Pack sorted before I deal with waking up a one year old.
“This seems more like a festival than a gathering of shifters.” Eva looks a little disappointed as she lifts her Doc Martin covered foot and flicks the mud off that’s gathered.
“This is just the parking lot,” I smirk at her as I walk towards the minivan. “Get Dean in the carrier and then we can get sorted.” I quickly jog off as she gets a little red in the face and looks like she’s about to start shouting at me.
‘Coward.‘ Storm growls at me as I shrug my shoulders and start helping Rowan group some of the younger Pack members, everyone is over eighteen but until they are twenty–one they are mine and Rowan’s responsibility.
“We need to get over to the yellow zone, Darryl and Fraction have messaged saying they are already there.” Rowan seems much happier, I guess he finally got hold of Selena as well.
“Right let’s get moving then.” As if my little man knows he’s surrounded by shifters with amazing hearing, Dean starts squealing at the top of his lungs telling me Eva has him out of the carseat.
“Want me to help?” I growl at Eva as I try to get the tent pole in place, whoever designed this thing is a master torturer.
“I got it, just stay there with Dean.” I hear someone laugh behind me. but I ignore them and just keep trying to thread the pole through the impossibly tight loop.
“Come on Cas, surely you’ve gotten thicker into a tighter hole.” Eva bursts out laughing asl turn around to growl at Fraction, “here, let me at it.” Throwing my hands up in the air I step back from the tent. I’m
about ten seconds away from shredding it to pieces. Much to my annoyance Fraction starts threading the pole in with complete ease.
“How the hell did you do that?” I ask him in amazement, I’ve been trying to get this tent up for the last thirty minutes and Fraction has it up in less than thirty seconds.
“Maybe I’m just more Alpha than you.” Faction pulls on his beard as he smirks at me, I just shake my head and laugh, I know he means it in jest.
“Any idea why we were summoned here? Darryl’s message said it was important I come.” Fraction looks around like he’s checking for who is hearing distance. Eva has gone into the tent with Dean and the rest of the Pack is busy getting their own tents set up.
“Come with me.” Fraction’s voice drops so only I hear him. I follow him through the tents to a more secluded area, there is nothing but trees around us now.
“What’s with all the cloak and daggers?” Slide my hands in my jean pockets as I look around to see if anyone has followed us.
“Darryl has summoned all the major Packs because The Elders have made their move.” I curse as I slide my hands through my hair.
“They replaced him?” The idea of anyone but Darryl leading the American Packs makes me feel a little sick.
“No, he picks a mate and they are making him do an old school introduction. The ceremony will be tonight, all the Packs have been called to witness it.” I feel my eyes widen and my stomach churn as I realise what he means.
“And the female?” It’s her who will suffer the most, a public mating is awful and brutal. It was done away with years ago because it damaged females in unfixable ways, it mentally broke some of them. Being claimed by your mate while multiple Packs watch is horrible, some Alpha’s would even let others have a go at their mate once the claiming was done.
“Nineteen, tiny little thing, she’s pretty sweet but I don’t think they are fated. Darryl seems off, he doesn’t want to do this but he also doesn’t want to lose his Pack.” Tilting my head back as Fraction talks I look up at the leaf cover canopy, the female sounds young, too young. I have to seriously wonder what the hell Darryl is thinking.
“So what do we do?” I expect Fraction to say something but when he doesn’t I tilt my head back down to see him shrug. Seems we are just two Alpha’s with no idea how to help our leader, some friends we are.
“Nice to see how much you both think of me.” I stiffen as Darryl’s voice sounds from behind a massive oak tree. I never even heard him approach, the man is built like a brick house but he’s so stealthy.
“Just worried is all.” Fraction says, I can see he’s also stiffened which means he didn’t hear him either. Darryl looks a mess, his now full beard is sticking out all over the place and his dark eyes are red and angry looking. Like he’s done nothing but stress and worry for a long time.
“You look like shit.” I tell him as he walks over to us, he just shrugs his massive shoulders and leans against one of the trees.
