Chapter 110: A Team, A unit, A Family!
Knox POV
My senses had been dulled as I remained trapped within an icy prison that was the magic weaved by the Moon goddess. Incapable of moving an inch, yet in a cruel twist, I could hear and see everything; never had I felt so vulnerable.
“Kane?” I asked, trying to reach my brother through mind link, needing someone as I watched the drama unfold. Lottie, my precious mate, stood at the mercy of the moon goddess, her heart torn between impossible choices. The air crackled with tension, thick with the weight of the goddess’s demands.
“I am here!” Kane fumed, and I could feel the anger wash through the bond that rivalled anything I had felt when Havoc had taken hold.
“What are we going to do?” I asked my brother, hoping he would have an answer or plan because the revelation that Lottie carried our children should have filled me with boundless joy, yet a storm of conflicting emotions overshadowed it.
Kane and I had already discussed this possibility when he came to my room the night of Lillie’s mating ceremony. Our father had refused to let us be together, so we took drastic measures to ensure we got to keep Lottle out of Mike’s hands and with

We had one aim and plan in mind over the next three days. Lottle would only leave my bed once we were certain we had done everything possible to bind her to us. Including the possibility of filling her with a child, we knew there was a risk. involved and had agreed that if we managed it and she fell
pregnant with one brother’s seed, the other would not resent the child or Lottle but love them eternally.
So finding out now that not only was she pregnant but with twins, confirmed by the moon goddess, filled me with satisfaction.
“Kane?” I prodded, needing him to answer.

“I don’t know, Knox.” He whispered. “When she told me about this offer, I never thought it possible that the price would be so high; I would never have told her to agree. I am sorry, Knox!”
“You knew?” I hissed; anger burned within me like a smouldering ember, fueled by the knowledge that they had kept me in the dark about Lottie’s dealings with the moon goddess. “How could you make decisions like this without consulting me? Without considering the consequences?” I roared inwardly, and given the way Lottie’s eyes met ours, she could sense the turmoil pulling me apart.
“It was to save you from yourself, Knox! You were.. shit, brother! I have never been so scared of losing you!” Kane offered,
“So you sacrificed HER and OUR children!” I bellowed through his mind.
“I am sorry, Knox!” But even I heard how hollow it sounded. My anger, although tangible, was not solely aimed at my brother or Lottie; I understood why they had done what they had; it was aimed at another!
“The moon goddess“, Havoc growled, his presence a welcomed one; after all we had been through, I could sense the calm washing through him and knew that whatever the Moon Goddess had done had saved him from his self–destruction. Even if she, a figure of unfathomable power and capricious whims, was currently the focus of my wrath.
“Stay calm, buddy!” Kane whispered to Havoc, who I could sense was seething with fury at her audacity and the cruelty of her demands; a sudden thought crossed my mind.
“Did you know she was pregnant too?” I asked Kane, wondering how far their
secrets ran.
“No!” He resolved himself, and despite my anger, I believed him.
“How dare she threaten our happiness, our family, as if we were nothing more than pawns in her cosmic game?” Kane added, his rage boiling further. But amidst the anger and despair, a flicker of hope emerged, hearing Lottie beg for us to be unfrozen. The frozen stillness shattered as the moon goddess reluctantly released

“Angel” I gushed and surged forward, my heart pounding as I reached for Lottie. Our lips met in a desperate kiss, tears mingling with the fierce intensity of our embrace. She and our children were safe for now because I would ensure it, and
that was all that mattered.
“I am sorry, I am sorry!” Lottie sobbed, her fingers clawing at me to pull me closer. The way her body trembled infuriated me. Feeling Kane beside us, I watched him lean down, his lips pressed against her temple tenderly.
“You do not have anything to be sorry for!” He soothed, but the storm crashing
inside him was clear.
“But..”
“No!” I demanded, hating that she and Kane had made this choice without consulting me because as torn up as I was about my father, I would never have. taken a gamble with our future like this, not even in my misery. She was my solace and light in the darkness, something I needed desperately. “You are not to blame.”
“Either of you!” I sighed, meeting my brother’s gaze, my fingers squeezing his hand, feeling him ready to explode with outrage.
“We will find a way..” Lottie sobbed breathlessly… “Because..” Unable to finish her sentence, her hand slipped to her stomach, and I watched Kane’s eyes drop, a smile slipping across his lips as he eyed her with devotion. My hand covered hers, wishing this moment… the moment we discovered that we were to be parents, that our love had made life… was so very different.
Kane’s hand slid to ours, and I felt the lump form in my throat, knowing precisely what Kane was considering because I, too, was thinking the same.
‘Could we give up Lottle to save our children?‘ It was an impossible request and one that should never have been made.
Lottle’s eyes were pools of turmoil as the moon goddess, a looming figure cloaked In lunar radiance, approached, her presence made by that enduring way

“Sweet Charlotte.” she whispered, “The terms of our cosmic bargain can not be ignored. I returned your mate’s father, resurrected him from the realm of the dead, and you knew there would be a price demanded of you,” The moon goddess spewed, and I wanted nothing more than to smack her in that white and pink mouth of hers because her voice so sweet yet her words delivered misery.
Our hands remained linked over Lottie’s stomach; a hush lingered in the pure light of the chamber we stood in. Selene raised her hand, a gesture commanding attention.
“Charlotte,” her voice echoed like a haunting melody, “You must make a choice. Sacrifice the mate bond with Knox and Kane, or…” A shiver ran down my spine, my heart pounding with trepidation. The moon goddess paused, letting the suspense thicken. “Or sacrifice the twins growing within you.”
Lottie’s breath hitched, her gaze shifting between us, begging us to help her in an impossible decision. Kane’s eyes met Lottie’s, then mine, the three of us nodding, an unspoken agreement passing between us as he squeezed my shoulder, a silent promise of solidarity.
“We will not pick!” Kane declared, his voice unwavering. He refused to sacrifice our mate or our precious children. A sentiment I agreed with, relieved that, for once, we had decided as a team, a unit!
A family!
