Chapter 120
Gian POV
I could barely move because of what Ethan told me. I didn’t even know that Belle was pregnant and I was the father she was carrying. How many times have I shouted at her and hurt her and even worse I pushed her earlier.
I went with Ethan to visit Belle because he took her to the emergency room. I can’t forgive myself when something bad happens to the two of them. That’s why no matter how much I pushed her away, she still stayed because she had a reason. I’m so stupid!
When we got to the opposite side of the emergency room, Ethan first called Agatha to ask where they were and his wife said that Belle had been transferred to a private room so we went straight there.
When we entered the room we saw Belle lying on the bed while Agatha was sitting on the side of the bed.
“What did the doctor say baby?” Ethan asked his wife.
“She’s okay now baby, it’s good and the baby’s fit is pretty strong.” Agatha replied.
Ethan turned to me. “You are lucky fucker and they are both safe because if not you will regret it for the rest of your life.” he said emphatically.
I was left alone to watch Belle who until now hadn’t woken up, Agatha and Ethan also said goodbye to leave because they still had to go to the OB because her wife has a schedule in check up.
I was just here sitting next to Belle’s bed waiting for her to wake up. I’m so thankful that they’re both safe. I might lose my mind when I go through what Ethan went through when he lost his child.
I leaned on the side of the bed until I realized that I had fallen asleep. I just woke up when I felt something loosen my hair so I looked up.
“Belle? Thank God you’re already awake. How are you? Do you want something to eat?” I asked her.
She shook her head. “I’m still full. Why are you here? Is Ethan and Agatha left already?”
“The couple left because Agatha has an OB schedule.” I replied.
I saw her smile bitterly after I said that the two will go on check up together. “I see, I’m so happy for both of them.”
“Me too.” I replied.
She didn’t answer and just remained silent while bowing.
I looked at her seriously. “Why Belle? Why didn’t you tell me the truth? Why did you hide it from me?” I asked her.
“I’m sorry.”
“Sorry? You’re just sorry? You’re so unfair to me Belle! They know about it but you keep it from me. Don’t I have the right to know about this child?” full of resentment I said.
“I’m not hiding it from you. I just decided to leave for a while because that will be good for us. My pregnancy is difficult and I can’t be stressed.” she explained.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“That’s still not enough reason Belle! You can just tell me that you’re pregnant so that I can be beside you and you won’t have a hard time. I know that it’s not easy for a pregnant woman to go through that stage.” I promise.
“I just don’t want to force you to come back because of the child, we haven’t gotten along yet and one more thing you’re still mad at me.”
“Do you think I’m like that? You know me when I don’t want to I won’t be forced. Even if I’m a jerk I won’t run for my responsibilities.” I said.
“I plan to tell you when we meet but we didn’t have a good conversation because you thought there is something going on with me and Luke.”
“You don’t know how worried I was when Ethan told me you were pregnant. Good thing you two are safe because if something bad happened to the both of you I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself because I was the one who pushed you.” I promise.
“I know you didn’t mean to do it.”
“But still I’m the one who pushed you. Look at what happened to you.” annoyed I promise.
“We are both okay now. You don’t have to worry. And I will not force you to be with me because I know that we are over already but won’t take away your rights to the child.”
“And you think I’ll agree with that? I’ll stand up for my responsibility Belle not only to the child but also to you.” I said seriously.
“You don’t have to do that, Gian. You already said we’re done and I respect your decision. It’s okay for me to hold your child accountable.”
“You won’t be the one to decide on that matter.” I refrain from raising my voice.
“Gian.”
“Stop it! You can’t stop me from wanting to do what I think is right for our soon to be family.” I said.
“But Maxine”
“What’s wrong with Max? If you think there’s something between us then you’re wrong. We’ve talked already and have a closure. We’re just friends now. She already gave up and let me go because she knows you’re the one I love.”
“But Gian —–”
“Stop! My decision is final. We will fix our relationship not only because of the child you are carrying but because of our soon to be family.” I promise.
She sighed and nodded. It’s good that she didn’t argue with me because she can’t do anything. I will not abandon them.
“Are you sure you’re not in pain?” I asked her.
“Yes, the doctor said that we are safe.” she replied.
“That’s good. I felt scared earlier about what happened to both of you.” I honestly said.
“The baby is so brave because he didn’t let anything bad happen to us.”
“And I won’t let that happen again.” I said.
“How are you? Are you okay? That leg of yours?”
“I’m now okay, the bruises and scratches I got from the accident are slowly healing. And the doctor said I can walk again when my leg is completely healed.” I answered her.
We just talked until the doctor came back to check on Belle again and leave what they needed for the baby.
