Unrivaled Dragon Lord

Chapter 43: Was this Guy Really a Driver?

Chapter 43: Was this Guy Really a Driver?

The two bodyguards had pale faces as their gaze swept over these young masters. They could

recognize some of them, but they didn’t know about the identity of the remaining ones.

These young masters all had extraordinary backgrounds. They all hailed from an affluent family. They

were either the children of local business tyrants, or the sugar daddies of influential government

officials. None of them had a mediocre origin.

If their gathering was sighted, they would undoubtedly make the headlines in all the news outlets in

Ocean City.

At that moment, the reason for their convergence… was to welcome a single man?

How could this be possible? This was the first time in the history of Ocean City that such an occurrence

had happened!

One of the bodyguards gazed intently at the black BMW. He could hear his own heart beating wildly.

He was really curious about the identity of the person sitting inside the car. Who could warrant such

attention?

This sight was too otherworldly for these two bodyguards. They could hardly believe their eyes.

Suddenly, a long leg wearing a leather shoe emerged from the car as the man landed his foot on the

ground with a crisp sound.

A man came into full view in an instant. He was someone with enviable look. His looks alone could stir

up frenzy among women.

He was none other than Young Master Sandoval, who was being welcomed by various other young

masters

These young masters were normally full of themselves and they always behaved in a gay and

boisterous manner. However, at that moment, they could only look at Young Master Sandoval with

admiration and flattery.

This was because their elders had told them about Young Master Sandoval’s origin. They told the

young masters that he was from Beijing.

If they could get into Young Master Sandoval’s good book, their entire family business could improve in

leaps and bounds. The benefits were endless.

Even if some young masters were always unruly and stuck up, they knew about Young Master

Sandoval’s value after being reminded by their elders. They had to do their best to narrow the distance

between him and them.

They could probably guess Young Master Sandoval’s real identity, yet no one dared to voice out. If they

do that, the entire Ocean City could cease to be peaceful.

“Young Master Sandoval, please go ahead.” Young Master Wayne was at the forefront to lead Young

Master Sandoval.

“Young Master Sandoval, this hotel is the most luxurious hotel in Ocean City which is usually reserved

for country leaders or government officials. They are unavailable for public usage. However, I have

pulled some strings, so the whole place belongs to us tonight.” Young Master Wayne explained with a

smile.

Young Master Sandoval nodded while replying, “Young Master Wayne, you’ve done a good job.”

“Please don’t say that. You have come from Beijing all the way here; the journey must be taxing on

your body. Instead of holding a banquet, I recommend you to have some rest first.” Young Master

Wayne spoke very politely on the surface but his heart was pounding with excitement. He was grateful

for his own wits as he had reserved this hotel single-handedly prior to this moment. This provided him

with some leverage to close in on Young Master Sandoval. If he hadn’t set this into motion, he would

be no different from the other young masters following behind him.

“I’m here to meet someone.” Young Master Sandoval scanned the banquet hall as he slowly uttered

these words.

“You don’t need to worry about that. Young Master Sandoval, let me bring you to your presidential suite

to rest first.” Young Master Wayne said with a wide grin on his face.

Not so long after Young Master Sandoval arrived, a Maybach S-Class sped through the veil of night

and through the illumination of lamp posts lining the highway. Maxwell was driving carefully as he

occasionally stole a glance through the rear view mirror. Greta was seated with her legs crossed in the

back seat. He was motionless with her eyes closed, seemingly enjoying her little nap. Her silky smooth

hair was pressed by her back. She bore a face which was always fascinating to look at.

Maxwell could detect a tiny hint of nervousness from Greta’s imperceptible expression. This was the

first time in three months Greta was being so nervous.

Maxwell continued to stare at her, and his gaze slowly travelled down to her legs. Her pair of slender

legs were too delicious a sight. Her long legs looked smooth and soft, and he could never get enough

of it…

“Focus on driving. I’ll gouge out your eyes if you continue to stare like that.” Suddenly, a cold voice akin

to a sharp blade pierced through Maxwell’s eardrums. Maxwell jerked upwards and saw that Greta was

looking at his reflection with her arms crossed in front of her chest.

Her gorgeous gaze was threatening to tear him apart at any moment.

“As you wish.” Maxwell smiled sheepishly and immediately turned his gaze onto the road.

When they reached the entrance of the hotel, the Maybach rolled to a stop. The car door was opened,

and Greta got out of the car by stepping on her high heels. She disappeared into the entrance after

that.

When Maxwell had parked the car properly, he went ahead to follow her footsteps. However, he was

stopped by the two bodyguards manning the entrance.

“Who are you?” The bodyguards studied Maxwell while asking him.

“I am Greta’s driver.” Maxwell answered.

“You’re the driver? Take the back door.” The two bodyguards exchanged a glance before replying him.

Maxwell froze for a moment before countering with his own question, “Why does the driver need to go

in through the back door?”

“All the drivers went in through the back door. Are you thinking to go in through the front entrance?”

One of the bodyguards sneered, “You’re not qualified to do that.”

Maxwell squinted his eyes and scanned the two bodyguards. He asked, “What if I insist to go in

through here?”

“Then your leg will be broken.” The other bodyguard looked at him disdainfully. He couldn’t imagine that

President Greta’s driver would show up with such a poor attire. He wondered when was the last time

Maxwell had washed his attire?

Maxwell was looking unkempt, and he still wanted to barge into such a classy place.

“Shouldn’t you get lost now?” The bodyguard barked.

A cold expression flashed across Maxwell’s face as he slowly retorted, “When I am done with official

business, I will have a good talk with you guys.”

The two bodyguards scoffed disdainfully. With Maxwell’s fragile frame, he really had no right to boast.

He was just bluffing. There’s no way he could do any damage to them. He looked like he could topple

when the wind blew at him.

Maxwell went in through the back door. He passed through the kitchen and immediately entered a

private suite. There were many men who were dressed in black sitting inside, and the ambience was

very lively.

These were the private drivers of the VIPs who were participating in the banquet. The participants were

all big shot, so naturally these drivers would make sure they were dressed well to conform to the

occasion.

Compared to them, Maxwell was wearing a shabby white shirt and he was wearing a layer of bullet-

ridden vest above his shirt. He looked like he was someone that had just returned from a warzone.

“Hey, there’s a new one joining us.” A smug-looking man who was holding a glass of red wine stood up

and studied Maxwell.

“Who are you working for?” The man was still observing Maxwell.

“Greta. I am working for President Greta.” Maxwell answered.

“President Greta?” The man was stunned momentarily but he followed up with an exaggerated

laughter, “Greta? Are you telling me you’re her driver? Based on your attire, I don’t think you are

qualified to be her driver at all. Shouldn’t you take a long look at yourself in the mirror? You really think

that you are her driver?”

In the private room, the crowd burst into laughter. The whole place was lively and jubilant.

“I heard that President Greta is a cleanliness freak, but this guy claims that he’s her driver? Nobody

would believe him!”

“If you don’t know how to pretend, please don’t do it at all. I figure he must have slipped in through the This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

back door and is probably scavenging for food…”

“Come one, I am the boss here. Toast me to a drink, and then get lost!” The man was somewhat drunk

as he bellowed arrogantly with whiffs of alcohol emanating from his body.

Maxwell simply stared at the man for some time before suddenly letting out a chuckle as he lashed out

with his fist. He punch connected with the man’s jaw. It was a perfect uppercut!

The man crashed into the table with a loud sound before clambering up from the floor with a distorted

expression. He never though that this guy would make a move on him, seeing that he was the driver of

a high-ranking government official. He was the one calling the shots among these drivers.

“You are dead!” The man stood up with a grotesque expression on his face as he roared at Maxwell.

“Driver? In their eyes, you are worse than a dog, yet you are here bragging like you are worth

something.” Maxwell sighed with emotion, and his tone was infused with mockery.

“You are courting death!” The man rushed towards Maxwell, but he was sent flying by Maxwell’s casual

kick.

In an instant, a deep silence enveloped the private suite. The other drivers were trembling with fear

after witnessing Maxwell’s capability.

Was this guy really a driver?

He had easily defeated a man who was considerably taller than him. He didn’t sweat much at all.

They were just drivers, so they couldn’t do what Maxwell could do.

Maxwell scanned the suite before placing his hands behind him and exiting the suite nonchalantly. He

was heading towards the banquet hall.

At the same time, Greta was in the centre of the hall. Although there were a lot of guests present, she

had become the focus of attention the moment she stepped into the hall.

At that moment, her beautiful features portrayed an image of calmness, but deep within her, she was

experiencing hyperventilation. She couldn’t bring herself to calm down no matter what she did.

Suddenly, a rough and hardened hand grabbed her smooth and tender hand. Greta turned around and

met Maxwell’s face head on.

She didn’t realize that this guy was already by her side.

“I am here, so you can be rest assured.” Maxwell started to speak, and his words were powerful

enough to calm Greta down visibly.

The next moment, there was an abrupt commotion breaking out among the crowd. Greta peered at the

source of commotion and saw that something was happening.

A complicated look shrouded her perfect features at that moment.

He had arrived.
