Chapter 413 Devouring Cordelia Entirely
She had been staying indoors and avoiding going out, feeling that no matter how threatening the
person might be, they couldn't physically harm her.
In other words, if someone really wanted to kill her, they wouldn't use such a low-level method of
intimidation by sending messages.
However, today was different. Imogen was finally going out.
Hearing that Imogen was going on a date with Ben, Cordelia wasn't worried anymore.
According to what Elijah had said, Ben was quite nervous about Imogen. During this period, he would
seek her approval for everything. He would also take the initiative to share his life with her and talk
about the gossip around him.
Although the two hadn't met in person, they were spiritually connected, like they had become spiritual
companions.
Because of this, when Ben returned to Grant City and invited Imogen out for dinner, she readily agreed.
[I hope you have a fantastic night.] Cordelia smiled and typed this message, then sent it to Imogen.
Afterward, she also started thinking about the matter between herself and Elijah.
During this time, Elijah didn't bother her, but their contact seemed never to have been severed.
Elijah didn't initiate any flirtatious talk or make any suggestive jokes
But sometimes, he would suddenly chat with her for a long time using discussing work-related matters
as an excuse, and at the end, he would sincerely apologize to Cordelia.
"I'm missing you. That is why I deliberately delayed you for so long. I'm sorry."
With him acting like this, what else could Cordelia say?
Perhaps it was time for Cordelia to farewell Elijah formally.
She hoped Elijah could cherish and take care of himself more in the days without news from her.
So, Cordelia came to Elijah's current residence after dinner that night.
Elijah was pleasantly surprised by Cordelia's sudden visit, and his eyes sparkled.
"Have you been sleeping well recently?" asked Cordelia while sitting on the sofa.
"Very well. However, I've become dependent on your sachet. Without it, it'll be difficult for me to sleep,"
said Elijah truthfully.
The next moment, he saw Cordelia take out twelve sachets with various patterns from her bag, each
vacuum-sealed to preserve their fragrance.
"Each sachet can last for about a month, so these should be enough for a year," Cordelia smiled.
Elijah picked up a sachet and seemed to fall into a deep thought. He said, "Are you... going on a
business trip?"
"Yes, I'm going on a trip abroad," Cordelia replied without hesitation and shared the plan she had
already thought of with him.
Since Cordelia had gone on a trip last year, Elijah immediately showed a knowing expression and didn't
sense anything suspicious.
After chatting with him for a while, Cordelia planned to leave.
Before leaving, Elijah looked at her departing figure. Suddenly, his heart skipped a beat as he felt
something terrible was about to happen.
He quickly caught up with Cordelia and said, "Cordelia, how about you don't leave tonight? There is a
bedroom on the first floor that faces the sunlight specifically prepared for you."
Cordelia paused in her steps and turned to look at him with a somewhat inexplicable look in her eyes.
Elijah said thoughtfully, "Don't worry, I won't disturb your rest."
Cordelia chuckled, "Can I trust those words from a man like you?"
"I mean it," said Elijah earnestly, his tone and eyes showing sincerity.
Then, Cordelia's eyes fell on the hand that was holding her arm.
Elijah immediately withdrew her hand and returned to his serious demeanor.
"Are you still afraid I'll force you into something you dislike? Am I that kind of person?"
Cordelia shook his head with a solemn expression. "Absolutely not." Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Only then did Elijah laugh.
"But..."
Unexpectedly, there was a twist, and Elijah's smile gradually disappeared.
"But you'll seduce me step by step, test me repeatedly, and eventually devour me entirely, leaving
nothing but bones!"
Elijah was left stunned.
