Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 57

Chapter 57 Why Are You Ignoring Me?

there une.

She turned the laptop on and started to work. About half an hour later, knock on the door.

Carrying yogurt and sliced fruit, Aiken entered the room smilingly. “Having yogurt can aid digestion after a meal, while these fruits will provide you with vitamin C!”

He placed them on the desk and winked at Maia.

Maia was puzzled. “What the hell is all this about?”

“You're my guest, aren’t you?” Aiken said.

Bewildered, Maia just said, “Well, thank you.”

“Don’t sweat it!” Aiken grinned and left.

At that moment, Maia’s phone beeped. It was a text message. “Stay away from Aiken Cantrell, or I'll fuck him up.”

Maia saw the number and knew who the sender was. In the past, she had yearned to see that number on her phone screen, but her wish had never come true until now.

Maia put her phone down without replying and continued to work. Not getting a reply after three hours, Cedric cursed in frustration.

He sent her another text. “Why aren’t you replying?”

Half an hour later, there was still no response.

“Why are you ignoring me, honey?”

“My wound hurts, honey.”

“Honey...”

He kept sending her messages, but Maia didn’t even reply to him once.

Cedric frowned and checked all the WhatsApp messages she sent a year ago-he hadn't replied to her once either.

He chuckled bitterly. “So this is how it feels not to get a response.”

It was pure agony.

The next morning, the sky cleared up. Sunlight poured into the room, making it cozy and warm.

There were knocks on the door, and Aiken's cheerful voice chimed, “Time for breakfast, Maia.” “Be right out.” Mala got out of bed, washed up, and left the room with her hair in a ponytail. “Ta—dah!” Aiken gestured toward the breakfast on the table.

There were pancakes, sandwiches, omelets, quiches, and waffles.

“You made all of this?”

“Of course!” Aiken smiled and asked, “Am | impressive or what?”

“Well, I'm definitely impressed.” Mala gave it a thumbs-up.

Aiken chuckled happily. “Dig in!”

As Maia sat and started eating a quiche, a burst of chanting came from outside the window. “We love you, Aiken Cantrell!”

Stunned, Maia walked over to the window and discreetly peered downstairs.

“It's your fans, Aiken.”

Getting up, Aiken hurried to the window and opened it. He laughed when he saw the makeshift banners his fans had made. “Hi, everyone! When did you make those banners? They look fantastic!” Aiken said as he waved at his fans earnestly. “Good morning, Aiken!”

“Oh, my God, Aiken waved at me! How do you like the pancakes | made?”

Hiding from view, Maia glanced at the pancakes on the table, then at Aiken.

Embarrassed, Aiken chuckled.

At that mor

his fans shouted again.

“Aiken, do you like the quiches my mom made?”

“And my grandma’s sandwiches!”

“And the waffles made by my dad!”

Maia laughed. So the only thing he made were the omelets. Aiken gave Maia an awkward look. “The food they brought is really nice, by the way,” Maia said as she returned to the table.

Aiken waved at his fans. “Thank you, guys. | hope you can pass on the money | gave you to your parents and grandparents. Thank you for lending a helping hand when | was in need,

His fans screamed in excitement. Some even burst into tears.

After the fans dispersed, Aiken closed the window.

Just as he sat back down at the dining table, the apartment door was thrown open.

“Aiken, how could you ask your fans to bring you food?” Jordan stormed in and grabbed Aiken by the ear. “Okay, okay, I’m sorry! Go easy on my ear, alright?” Aiken immediately yielded.

Maia wanted to calm Jordan down but didn’t get the chance to speak.

Jordan said angrily, “You shouldn't exploit your fans! How could you ask them to give you free food?” Aiken quickly explained, “I didn’t! | paid them, all right?”

“You did?” Jordan was suspicious.

Aiken nodded. “Yeah, | spent 100 bucks on the waffles. | paid for everything on the table!”

Taken aback, Jordan loosened his grip on Aiken's ear.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Yeah, Jordan, he told his fans to pass the money to their families,” Maia said, trying to help.

Jordan let him go and smacked his back. “The news said you were getting free food.”

“What the hell?” Aiken quickly picked up his phone and checked Twitter. “Aiken getting free food from fans” had become the top trending topic.

Everyone was talking about it online.

“So what if he just won the Best Actor award?”

“This just shows the type of person he really is!”

“How could he eat so much food? What a pig.”

However, Aiken’s fans soon posted proof of his money transfer to debunk the allegations.
